Need decorating ideas for family living room
Comments (7)Hi to your sweet baby! I would start with finding a rug that has a few bright accent colors. Then you can brighten your space by purchasing accessories and pillows using your rug colors. Then you'll need a coffee table or ottoman and some side tables and lamps. The rug size will depend on your seating arrangement. Will you be adding more chairs to the space? You want to make sure your tables and seating can fit on the rug. I would try to find a rug pattern that combines the cool tone of your sofa with your warm walls and floors. That will make your space look more cohesive. eSale rugs has a great tool where you can upload your room photo and it will insert a rug in your space. Many online rug merchants have free shipping and returns. But, wrapping a big rug and dragging it to the post office can be a pain. If you find a rug you like online, order the smallest available. Then you can check the colors and texture in your space without having to worry about shipping a giant rug....See MoreLiving Room Decor Ideas Needed
Comments (35)Gabriella, a history of your comments shows that you're mostly interested in promoting the replica MCM chairs and sideboards sold at a NYC furniture store. You wouldn't happen to work there or own the store, or be friends or partners (personally or professionally) with someone who is, would you? Also, there have been more than a dozen BBB complaints in the past three years about the store you've been recommending, which I would find problematic if I were looking to buy something there. If you're trying to do native advertising/produce placement, you have to be less clunky and obvious about it. For example, not suggesting MCM furniture when the OP states a preference for farmhouse style....See MoreI need decorating ideas for my living room.
Comments (55)Thank you all so so much for all of the helpful advice! I think I have an idea of what colors and layout I’m going to go with. After going back and forth with my husband and moving furniture around for days, I think we’ve decided to keep the original layout, but we tweeked it a bit. I’ve ordered 132 inch White draped with black rod for windows. A black and white floor lamp, and a large black and white canvas for the large wall. I know it may seem colorless, but I figure I can always change out pillows . I still think I can add some subtle natural wood elements here and there. Everything should be here in the next few weeks so I’ll post what I have at that point. I may need a few more ideas! Also, look out for a post soon on exterior paint color ideas. Thank you all again for your input!...See MoreNeed some living room decor ideas please
Comments (52)OK. Here is Rev. 2. Still some measurement issues but mainly fireplace position. I think the TV over the fireplace is best because the angle and space to right of fireplace is not very large without overlapping Bay Area. I removed the soiled piece of the sectional to make everything fit nicely. (Convenient). I guessed on size. But these are fairly standard so I think I am close. I used Beverly’s idea for a console and art above it on wall to left of office doorway. I don’t know why the wall with the fireplace pops out but doesn’t go to office door. Might be worth building that out so the TV can be placed over fireplace nicely. But if not, we can design wall to have possibly a mantel that runs across and around end. Just depends on styling desired....See Moredecoenthusiaste
