I'll never catch up but here's a start.....
Comments (10)Lovely, lovely, all so lovely. You have outstandingly beautiful daylilies, my head just swims at all the colors and forms. So, it's the usual, love them all, but I must mention the clump shot of Rocket City, that's a beaut! Cat Dancer will always be a winner to me. Ugly, ugly, ugly Japanese beetles, wish there were no such things to destroy all our plants. Your lilies are a treat to the eyes, our Scherezade was supposed to look like yours, but the lack of water kept it low. Conca d'Or is marvelous, and so are your clematis, two stunning photos. Sorry to hear your mother is worse, wish there were something like a cure just around the corner, but maybe some day. Always send best wishes to you and your family, and I'll be looking forward to your next post. Avedon...See MoreMore Catch Up Pictures

Comments (10)Thanks to all for your comments. Gesila, Magic Fire is planted in morning sun in hopes the number of divisions gets a bump. Of course this year sun, only applies to the last week, as everything else has been rain and/or overcast. Galaxy was new in 2011 and seems to be taking hold very well. Had to twist out one green division this year, but rest is doing well. It was divided off of an established clump. Paula, the tree is an oak - have a couple different types in that garden. WW, I enjoy finding plants and whimsy pieces to complement the hostas. Also like to plant and plan around rocks. Paul...See MoreCatch up again on Wednesday
Comments (15)I often wonder about some names on daylilies like Crimson Stories . I am guessing it is one of those plants whose color depends on soil composition . I checked NGA and a number of the images do seem to lean more towards red than your image does . Your's definitely is more of a purple tone. I find it interesting too that all the images are showing yellow throats . Is this accurate or does it have something to do with what you are taking pictures with ? Each and every one of the blooms above have predominantly yellow throat ( a tiny green base is visible on some ) . Is this a feature you are breeding for ? It caught my eye because most daylilies are green in the throat with the odd one having an orange throat . Love Sam Abell ....See MoreMaryl (Okla. Zone 7a)
