Neighbor dog pooping on my lawn
Comments (112)I have lazy neighbors who have been allowing their two dogs to run freely and poop in my yard. It used to be an empty lot so I kind of get it but sorry, someone lives here now. After 3 years of going out to yell at the dogs or to actually chase them off (when I see them) and shovelling poop back to their yard the damn dogs still come over. I thought when dogs smell the poop they learn thats's where to poop? I must have sent 40 to 50 piles back to their side. The best part was just the other day either someone also returned them a present, in their driveway, or ome of their dogs actually pooped in the middle of their driveway. Karma is a b!tch. Anyway, dog deterrents DO NOT WORK so do not suggest them. Pellets were a waste of $$, ultrasonic repeller did nothing. I'm not wasting any more effort or $$ on solutions that don't work. And I'm not calling animal control. Range wars only make living in your neighborhood stressful. I want to come home to a castle, not to a war. We get along otherwise so why make things stressful? I'm not talking to them, either. They are already aware of the problem and really, I shouldn't have to ask you to clean up after your dog. Why are we all so entiltled to our rights over everyone elses's anymore? There is absolutely no respect left in this world which I think is really the crux of the matter. You can't ask anyone to do anything that they think infringes their rights. Uh sorry, but we didn't fight two world wars and countless others so it would be acceptable for you to be lazy and let your dogs poop all over. I'm done playing the game. I'm fencing the entire side yard on that side now, probably close to 200 feet. Enough is enough. No one else on the street of large yards has a fence out front so that part of it will stand out. But it's the only thing that will work. I know it's not an option for everyone but it is for me and I have no issues with the look of a beautiful 3 rail white vinyl fence with wire mesh running down the side. And landscaping the inside of the fence line will be fun! I will do the right thing and let them know I am doing it(no setback here so it's only fair to warn them). And when they ask why......problem solved. I'm sure the dogs will start going on the other side now; it will be interesting to see how that neighbor, who has 3 small children, swallows that pill....See Moredon't make my mistake!
Comments (44)Well.... I have some bad news... Looks like I'll only be bringing one of my boys back on Janurary 13th, instead of two. My oldest cat, Jack, had to be put to sleep yesterday evening. Within less than a two week span, he stopped eating, drinking, and grooming himself. After several days of tests, the vet diagnosed it as diabetes. But she was concerned that there was some other underlying cause or causes. Even if I could afford treatment for him, he was never going to be the same again. She did give him some treatment, he started eating again for a few days, he was responding normally, he looked like himself in the face... but it didn't last long... he stopped eating and drinking again for the past few days... losing more weight.... long story short, I ultimately had to make that decision today... I was there for the euthanization.... I knew it was going to be tough.... but not THIS tough! All this hell I went through with these boys back in July.... and now only 1 month until they're supposed to come home......... I never expected to be bringing only one back... my heart hurts so bad right now..... all I keep seeing is his eyes after she said he was gone........ lifeless.... Only 20 minutes before, I was holding him in my arms... This is KILLING ME!!! I don't know how to deal with this......See MoreMy Little Miracle Today and a Question
Comments (22)If it makes you feel any better . . . Years ago my wonderful son decided to tape pictures to his new bedroom furniture. Now, this was not top of the line furniture, more crappy laminate furniture that was all we could afford at the time. Anyways, when the tape was removed, so was the very thin laminate underneath :( . I ended up getting this super cool decals that could be taken off and re-applied with no damage and covering the bare spots. I had loads of people trying to buy this same furniture when I sold it on ebay, and no one cared about those bare spots. On the other hand, I found him writing on a piece of paper that was lying on his brand new maple floor with a black sharpie and freaked out. Then, I got some windex and sprayed the part that had seeped onto the wood floor. It just dissapeared! Before I even wiped it off! Comments (43)Oddly enough, I slept very well. I think it was a combination of getting up very early that morning, staying up rather late last night (because I was on edge), and the unseasonably cold temperature--"good sleeping weather." Jasdip, that's the way my Angel was. She was a Briard, the breed Thomas Jefferson brought from France to guard his sheep (or something). Angel never bit anyone, but she was extremely protective of me, and let people know she meant business. She even "spoke sharply" to my son once, when he was a young teenager. He had picked me up, and I was yelling, "Put me down!" :-) Janie, I appreciate the instructions, but I'm wondering if it's worth doing since the upper half of my front and back doors is glass. All they'd have to do is break it..... Dees, I know very well that you're not spouting nonsense, but not to worry. As I mentioned above, I used to have a close familiarity with guns. I did a lot of target shooting with a .357 (and ear protection) and various other guns. In fact, before terrorism reared its head, I used to take a rifle with me on the plane to Florida so I could target shoot with my dad. But it's been quite a while since those days, and I'm not at all sure I want to get a gun at this point. Maybe yes, maybe no. I need to give it some thought. Thanks, all!...See MoreUser
