Thank you so much for responding. What you say makes sense. I don't see door style as much of an issue because the current doors (solid bifolds) are usually open when we do laundry so air isn't really a concern. But I am guessing the need for louvered doors or a vent probably has to do with code. If it doesn't, I can just leave the doors (or just the door in front of the dryer) open when I do laundry. Not a real biggie for the four-five loads per week that we do! Your side wall vent is a good suggestion, but I don't know if it will work. To the right is the center hall of the house - can't really put it there for aesthetic reasons. To the left is the clothes closet in my bedroom (which has louvered doors!) but I am not sure that there would be any benefit to vent into this closet. The back wall of the w/d closet has the pantry and another bedroom closet behind it also with louvered doors. I live in west central florida so we welcome any cold air that comes from the attic - it's usually hot air! I suppose we can install a vent into the solid bifolds, right?

You have no idea how excited I am about figuring out how to post photos. I feel like when my son would get a new Lego! The hutch means 'love' to me. It took years to find it and I can only imagine how much history and stories come with it. Almost everything displayed on each shelf is new but look on the bottom shelf - I know it's hard to see but the plate shows a scene of 2 deer - a buck and a doe. It belonged to my great-grandmother. My grandmother gave it to me at my wedding. I was told that 'Bubbie' brought it over from Russia. Her mother had given it to her as a wedding gift. It survived a trans-Atlantic crossing, Ellis Island, and now it's in my house. Do you see the spice tins? Montco, Ann Page, and Durkee metal tins that I inherited from my mother-in-law. My sister-in-law took the Waterford, I wanted the tins! They're from the 1940's and 50's. The pumpkin pie spice says 27cents on it! I just opened then and believe it or not the cinnamon and pp spice still smell fresh!

I use magicplan on my iPad, I got the app free but purchase plans for 2.50. If you tell me where the windows and doors are I can try some plans out and post here. Whether or not you can fit a washer/ drier in will depend on if you have lots of solid walls, if you are willing to sacrifice a large shower, have only a single sink and how many exterior walls you have if you live in an area that does not allow for exterior wall plumbing. I have a larger bath but it has windows on all three exterior walls so my plumbing for the shower was limited substantially. With smaller baths we really have to pare down and focus on our most important wishes. here is a quick plan that assumes you have no windows or issues with plumbing placement magicplan only allows for doors on outside walls but the door to the stackable laundry cubby should fit in the room too.

I am currently remodeling and getting the Bosch 800 washer and ventless dryer based on reviews and recommendations from my very savvy neighbor. I have no idea where the information is coming from regarding six hour cycles but based on the user manual, that is not true of the Bosch and the washer and dryer hold quite a bit - again look at the specifications regarding how many towels can be done in a load. I would think the convenience of doing laundry where it is created and then unloading it where it is returning make it a highly desirable addition - so what If you have to do an extra load or two in the course of a week :-) There is not significant vibration with a Bosch - Bosch is known for exceptionally quiet appliances. The reason I am going with the Bosch is twofold - first the dryer hooks into the washer so installation is simple. Second, they have an amazing water alarm season which is critical for a washer located where a flood would cause a lot of damage. The Bosch 800 has two flood safeguards - the hose is double lined and there is also an integrated water alarm system and pan - if the alarm senses water, the machine stops and no more water goes into the machine and the pan holds any water that has leaked through. If there is anyway of finding space for the 24" stackable units, I would certainly do so.
