Bathroom sinks/vanity are IN bedroom, not bathroom- HUH?
Comments (30)My parents house is like that, but there’s a wall with a wide doorway into the area with the vanity, so it’s open but also easy to close off by just putting a curtain rail up. It’s also oriented to the room such that if you only use enough light at the vanity to wash your hands for a midnight potty run, it really isn’t enough to bother someone in the bed if you place the bed sensibly. Getting ready in the morning would be trickier if you needed to do makeup and so on so needed proper lighting, so that’s where a screen or a curtain would come in....See MoreBathroom vanity area questions.
Comments (2)You have a lot of options. You can install a narrower framed mirror above the sink area, then install lights on each side. Outlets can go either above or within the backsplash. Another option is to do a large mirror with the outlets on top, along with your lights. My previous MB had a large mirror above a 6' vanity. Both lights and outlets were on top of the mirror. Another design would be to add a small cabinet on one, or each, end and put your outlets there.... As for hiding the outlets with a moveable mirror, I think it would not make for easy access to the outlets. Especially if you're going to use them for charging toothbrushs, shavers, and running hair dryers. Here is a link that might be useful:...See MoreWhat to put on bathroom walls as decor.
Comments (19)Well I am back and can finally add the picture of the wall. I think I want to go with a set of 3 shelves, 24", 21" and 18" in white. I already have some things I can put on them that would add color. If I don't do 3 shelves, maybe the 24" one and a set of 3 small pictures above the shelf. Not sure how big they would be. BTW, I was the OP, so the wall space is in the original post.Close up of my granite. The mirror will end up having a small white frame around it....See MoreNeed help with bathroom vanity - x-post with Bathrooms
Comments (13)I had the exact same problem. I picked out the vanity I wanted but did not think about the fact that it wasn't made to sit flush against the wall. I spent a month looking for something else, but in the end we decided to go with something shorter and have it not be against the wall. But we were going from 72" to 60" which is probably not workable in your mom's situation. I did find a lot of vanities that did have flat sides and could work in a corner, if you are willing to have the countertop fabricated. They just need to not have any trim detail on the top or bottom like the one you picked out does. I would just look at the ones without the pre-made tops. Because the pre-made top will still leave you with a slight gap because of the countertop overhang. This is an example: Avanity Modero which is sold everywhere, not just at Lowe's. The cabinet we ended up buying is an Avanity Madison which won't work for you, but I assume it is of similar quality. We are pretty happy with it. The drawers and doors have soft close but I do feel like the glides in my Ikea kitchen drawers are better quality. It is very pretty and I wanted a stained wood so I am really happy with our choice. If I had been willing to go with a painted finish, I think we might have stuck with the 72" Modero....See MoreSina Sadeddin Architectural Design
