Bath #1 relocates a window....as also happened in a bath in the ‘wallpaper in your bathroom’ story that I just read. I'm very curious - how does this get handled on the outside of the house. Seems like it would be a major issue/headache - filling in? Matching existing exterior finish?

How about a story on this challenge, please??

@originaltuckerdc Having done two demo reno bathroom remodels in a very old house with cedar siding I can attest to the fact that this is a big expense. The cost of changing a window includes having your window guy/gal come to the house to do just one window which they hate. They always want to do the "big" jobs. If the window is not installed by the retailer then it is usually not guaranteed. Then yes the exterior has been damaged and must be repaired. The siding must be ripped out or cut to fit the new window and it must match. The molding around the window has to be re-done and the exterior surface replaced i.e. new wood siding or vinyl siding or whatever you have. vinyl can be very hard to match because it fades and there will be seams. Painting the new part also has to be done to match the rest of the house. The upside is that you will create what you want in the bathroom. cost-benefit depends on how long you will stay or your resale value. It cost a lot to do it but definitely worth it to get what I needed out of my small bathrooms with previously oversized windows. p.s. you may need an architect for framing issues and check your codes for tempered glass rules.
