Help me with a dining room light fixture

Nicholas Tipton

This old stinker still stands because I'm not sure what to put in the space.

Here's a couple angles on the space.

Notable: in the kitchen area, the finish on fixtures is satin nickel. The entryway is black, but I might paint it.

Does finish matter much in this case? Satin Nickel or Black?

Here's some thoughts I had:

I could go eccentric; a break from geometric and add whimsy and more color.

or I could maintain that industrial with cross pattern:

I've even considered something like these because they blend the black and nickel into the design.
