I think option 3 is the most similar to your inspiration and I think it is the prettiest of your choices.

Thanks jenanla, I think the advantage to Option #3 is it has the lightest color shade and will probably put off the best light (I hate to eat in the dark). The disadvantage is I don't "love" the design on the glass... However, I think this was DH's vote also, so maybe I'm reaching a consensus of 2. ;)

i like option 2. not exact of course, but very similar shape and color.

number 3 is discontinued so if you want it you better get it now. i know because I am using those lights in my house.

of the ones left personally I like 1 and 4 they have the most personality, which I think is nice in a dining room, 1 especially is unique.

number 3 in my experience has more green than shows up in the photos.

jea2007 Thanks for the extra info on #3. Guess I better make a decision ASAP since that would be the second discontinued light fixture I ordered for the dining room. I must have bad taste since the mfg'ers keep discontinuing the fixtures I pick.

katedkouros Thanks for the input. I haven't forgotten about your request for Nichiha pictures. Our siding is sitting in our backyard and frustratingly enough has been there since the end of Feb. Every day the sider is supposed to be there and everyday I find myself looking at Tyvek. I'm driving out tonight again to check... It's driving me nuts to see the shingles just sit there. I'm about to start putting them on myself! LOL.

Personally, I love #1. I love glass and it's shape is wonderful. #4 is my second fav. Those two have the most appeal to me. The others are nice, but not the same wow factor as the others.

Not that it makes a huge difference, but this is the light fixture that will be closest to it, in the foyer.

The dining room is right of the front door and in the room to the right, I'm planning on this smaller fixture

We have very similar tastes: I like all your options! #1 is my least favorite, too bulbous. Love #3, but not for a dining: for some reason that shade of green seems unappetizing-- would use it in a bedroom in a heartbeat.

I'd add these two from Meyda to the options, though, from the Prarie Corn collection, matching sconces available:

I like 4 or 5. I think the metal work on those 2 would be very interesting in the daylight as well. Have you checked the diameter of each? What size fits your space the best? Maybe that would help narrow it down. Good luck!

I like #4 best. I think the arching lines make a nice change of pace. I like #3 because I think you will get the most light. They are all very handsom fixtures. They all suit the style you've picked. I think you'd end up being pleased with any of these which doesn't help you very much. Sorry.

Hmmm. It's amazing to me that this is the only fixture that has given me this much trouble. I've been holding most of my fixture order until I made this decision and thought there was no time like the present... I may have to stew on this overnight. Thanks to everyone for your input. It sounds like really, no matter which fixture I choose, it will "be ok". And none of them are extremely pricey (when compared to the rest of the house, :) ) so if I eventually find the "perfect" fixture, I'll just switch it out.

Just a suggestion....is your table rectangular....how long...how big is the room??? I think if you have enough room and it is rectangular it would look awesome to hang two of the same fixtures over your table. They just appear smaller scale for a dining room and I have seen many dining rooms that use two "smaller" lights in line over the rectangular table. I know...more costs...and possible a fix for the electrician to do:) Just what I visioned with your beautiful light choices. P.S. I like #2 and then #1 and can so see either when using two. Placed like you would smaller pendant ligths over a kitchen island!?

A vote for #4! I think it is the most unique of the options, works with your other choices while also being different enough to stand out. Have fun!

I think 2 and 5 are closest to your inspiration photo but #1 seems to go with the lights in the other areas.

Such fun huh? I'm searching for the right kitchen lights for over the sink and over the island. I want them to be from the same line and they are hard to find. It's funny how we are familiar with each other's choices since we have all been to most of the online sources.

Gotta say I don't think #4 is too swoopy for craftsman/mission/arts and crafts: its more about the beauty of the line, rather than having to use only straight lines. A lot of the authentic period peices used graceful, simple curves. Arts & Crafts was one of the inspirations of the Art Deco movement.

Thanks for pointing that out orboris. I see a lot of cross over in fixtures from the 1910s to 1920s as things transitioned from Craftsman to Art Deco. Our previous house was circa 1920 and had the most beautiful dining room light fixture. I really wanted to pull it before we listed the house but I felt it was a little dishonest to tear it from it's original home. However, if I ever find out the new owner's replaced it with a new fixture, I'll literally cry... Really leaning towards number 4 now. I just have to sell DH now (or not tell him...)
