Shaker is lighter than Brandon. Look at the LRV - light reflectance values. Shaker is about 56 and Brandon is 38. The higher the LRV number, the lighter the color. Not a huge difference. If you haven't already painted samples, that might be a good way to help you decide which one you like better.

Given a yellowish ceiling and a pink-beige floor (and the brown trim) what paint color do I choose without creating a clash between these two colors ? Orange. Also known as (YR) Yellow-Red in my world. The pink and yellow don't relate to each other as a pair because the geometry is off. A quick look at a color wheel will show you how to fix any color combination that doesn't look right or looks like it's missing something. In the case of pink and yellow, something is missing. And that's a bridge color to link the two. In this case it's colors from the orange (YR) hue family. The geometry of a color wheel applies to all colors, purely saturated, tints, tones, shades, near neutrals - all of 'em are included.

Random thoughts: - The outside looks neat as a pin. Clearly this house has been well cared-for, though I agree with the above poster that the landscaping is kinda dull. - The wall paper may or may not be a problem. When I moved into my current house, I immediately renovated the two bathrooms ... I pulled down the wallpaper from the large master bath in about 15 minutes, but I spent three days of misery in the similar-sized hall bath. Why? The walls in the master bath were "primed" before the wallpaper went up. ALWAYS prime your walls before painting or wallpapering. ALWAYS. More to the point: I hope your walls were primed. - I do like plantation shutters (and intend to have them in my new house), but they don't seem right for your 1970s ranch, and I don't think I'd like them in beige. I agree you should take them out ... but sell them on eBay or Craigslist. They're worth money. Don't bother painting them ... if I were buying, I wouldn't mind painting them. - As for the beige trim, it will be a monster to paint (or a monster-sized bill, if you pay someone to do it), but it's not hard work ... just tedious work. Since you're talking about color preferences, not functional needs, you don't have to do it all at once. - While you're painting things, I'd look at those dark brown gutter spouts. They seem to stand out in a bad way. - I like white-painted brick, and I think this house would look lovely if the wood trim above the windows were a light-to-midtone blue. - I'd think lose that wrought iron railing on the front ... maybe. I don't particularly like it, but it does fit with the house.

If you kitchen has a lot of windows, then any of the colors you mentioned would be OK. Realist Beige has an LRV of 59 (on a scale of 0-100; 100 being most reflective of light, ie. brighter to the eye); Manchester Tan has an LRV of 64; and Kilim Beige has an LRV of 57. Colors to consider are SW Natural Choice LRV 74; SW Egret White LRV 70; and SW Creamy LRV 81. All need to be compared to your cabinet color to ensure the right tone is achieved. You can order samples of the colors in 12x12 sheets for around $6.00 each from samplize.com. I use them all the time, because in the long run it is cheaper and no bottles of paint to dispose of and no purchase of foam boards, brushes and making the samples up. Plus, you get a real true sample of the color. Might try at least say 2-3 of your favorites if you can. Our SW store is taking call ins for chips for curb pick up. You could get all those chips and then decide what few to get the larger samples of so you can contrast and compare. Best of luck with the baby!
