Here is my kitchen in Putnam Ivory, with light oak cabinets. I liked it so much I painted my living room the same color. I painted the ceiling Elephant Tusk, which looks like a white next to the walls, but is a lot warmer. In progress, in natural light - you can see the ceiling color against the white light fixture. I was running out of paint, so I didn't paint behind all the cabinets. Looking at the two photos together, obviously the color is different with and without flash. Have you considered the complimentary colors shown on the BM swatch? If you take this over to Home Decorating, the wonderful gals over there will set you in the right direction.

Hi Everyone, I’m painting my entire lower floor BM shaker beige and am looking for a complimenting color to use on the back wall of my family room. Also, I’m redoing the kitchen. The cabinets will be painted BM Timid White (a little bit creamy but not yellow), Giallo Ornamental counters and cream backsplash with darker grout. The cabinets will be built up to the ceiling. Since I do not like a white ceiling against creamy cabinets, can I paint the ceiling the same color as the cabinets as well as trim?
