Patton's stretch sock yarn
Comments (6)Tammi, Yes, I really like it, although my knitting is exactly the opposite of yours.....I knit very loosely, so generally go down a size or two needle from the one suggested...I was hoping that the stretchiness might counteract my natural looseness, and I think it may have.....do yourself a favor, though, and really TRY to knit looser - it'll make your life a lot easier...no more having to practically pry the stitches off the needles, etc. Cannahavana...I knit from the top down, and try them on....you needn't start at the toe to do this. I'm curious, though, how you create the heel, knitting up? The pattern I use, I create a heel flap, from 1/2 the stitches, then, when this is square, turn the heel....(knitting halfway across, decrease, then turn and work back, decrease, etc.)....how do you turn your heel when you don't knit down? I can't imagine....See Moresocks - I must be getting old
Comments (32)My husband bought me three pair if smartwool brand cable knit socks for Christmas. I don't care for them. They are pretty and a nice weight - not too thick or too thin and fit well in my snow boots - but they have an odd texture. It seems I can feel the individual threads when I walk. Also, there are two short diagonal seams in the heel that somehow end up under my heel, so that I'm walking on them. It feels like I have something inside the sock. Ugh. Back to the drawing board on my own hunt for the perfect socks. By the way, I do like the wigwam wool socks at Costco and like to wear them around the house in my slippers, but they are too thick to wear in shoes or boots. Also, the colors aren't quite right for me, as I prefer dark or black. Each pack of three pair contains either light grey, purple (that washes to a very bright color) and light blue. You can't get a three-pack of just the dark colors....See MoreHas anyone used Virginia Hardwoods Prime Aqua shield Vinyl Plank?
Comments (135)HI I had Prime Waterproof Dark Roast installed in my kitchen and back of the house, I hate it, I cannot get this floor looking clean. It smudges and never look clean. Has anyone else had problems with this floor. I have tried Bono and Rejuvinate cleaner for LVP floors, but left them looking hazy. My floor is Matt finish. Which seems to show every foot print and sock print. Im going crazy trying to find the best cleaning for this floor. Could it be my mop? I use a microfiber mop. Does anyone else use something else? Suggestions are appriciated....See MoreDoes anyone make narrow shoes anymore?
Comments (62)I originally started this post 6 years ago. I am sorry this is still an issue for so many. I believe it has gotten even worse. Unfortunately, the design world does not make shoes for everyone. In my opinion, if a company decided to make stylish shoes in different widths and sizes that were midlevel priced, they would have a profitable business. I am sure it wouldn't be as profitable as others but there is money to be made. In six years I have bought several pairs of running sneakers, a pair of blue oxfords, and a lovely penny loafer from Trotters. Only the penny loafers are narrow. If I had access to stylish not frumpy choices I would have bought more. My 10-year-old black trouser flats with a rubber sole have split across the bottom of the ball of the foot. The leather still looks brand new. My amazing shoemaker said it was $60 to replace the soles and I should just buy new shoes. Well, I am replacing the soles as I can't find anything that fits and I like. Everyone has struggles and in the scheme of things, this is annoying but not life-threatening....See Moregrapefruit1_ar
