KT: Would you like to try flagging/deleting a reply?

For folks from the Kitchen Table, here is a thread in which you can try to delete a reply. If you delete one, please also leave a reply saying that you have done so. Then expect, please, that someone else may come along and test flagging/deleting your reply.

Here is a reply that you may delete. Just click the tiny flag on the right, and when the question comes up, choose a "reason"....Then make a reply here, yourself so that the next interested person can try it.

I deleted it and the reason was, "I just don't like it"

I was looking for reviews of washers and dryers when I needed to buy a new one. Google found the Laundry Forum. I don't think I even joined at that time - I just read what I needed and left for probably a few years. Then when I decided to remodel my kitchen I kind of remembered GW That Home Site had kitchen stuff too so I came back. Then I joined and became totally immersed in the Kitchen site for about two years. Once I was done with that project I drifted around to Cooking and some other places. Someone else from Kitchens who was done with their kitchen suggested KT. I checked in here for a while but didn't find I had much in common with most folks since a lot of people seemed to be retired. I probably still don't have all that much in common with a lot of people here but I now check in daily to see if there's anything going on that's at all relevant to me.

Couple things that I find helpful on other discussion forums I visit: If you hover your pointer over the thread title, a little box pops up w/ a 'preview' of the post. Helps to know what the post is actually about, saves time opening threads w/ titles like 'Help'. Also, next to the thread title is a button that will take you to the first unread post of the thread (it doesn't appear if there are no new posts). That way, you know if there are new comments and it saves time not having to scroll through the whole thread looking for the last post read.

We still need an Agricultural Commissioner, don't we? And a Land Commissioner? We've got to have fresh fruits and vegetables! Also, fresh meat and poultry, and seafood, so we need farmers and ranchers, fisheries, etc. Our AC and LC would oversee all of that, right? And I can't think of the proper name for it right now, but someone to see that the cereals, grains, canned & frozen foods we import come from reliable sources and are safe and healthy. Oh, and a modern, up to date, state of the art grocery store, which will need someone to manage it. Rusty

You're welcome PKponder. I enjoy talking about politics but don't like Hot Topics. I figured if I clearly marked it WARNING - POLITICAL, those who don't want to talk about politics could scroll on by. It's unfortunate there are those people who don't want to talk about politics but want to stop others who do. There are a few things people post here that I'm not interested in, like "find the object." Just not my thing. If others want to participate in those threads, I don't try to stop them. I just scroll on by.

Well, I just tried to flag yours, albert_135, but it did not delete at all as far as I can tell. Perhaps it doesn't work in the test forum. That would be kind of weird, since it IS a test forum.

tsugajunkie, I don't think your flagging deleted the fist reply, either. Hmm.

Albert- I deleted both of your music posts. One as spam and the other as abusive. They are gone for now. ETA still gone 36 minutes later.

My wife has not gone to work yet and she cannot see the music posts either. [She does not do forums but she looked it up just for us. She is, occasionally, sweet that way.]

Curious.

ETA: I wonder if my Firefox has it cached somewhere. Makes no sense but ... ?

I've reported actual spam many times. The posts would disappear and not reappear. Except for one time when I reported a setup question before the payoff reply.

These posts might not look like spam/abuse to someone quickly scanning though tens/hundreds of reports. Just guessing.
