Do I repaint a kitchen blah tan for resale?
Comments (30)It's kind of funny to read these comments. Though, I'm not sure how funny it is to say that because someone likes a blah house they don't know how to decorate. Just because the color palate is neutral doesn't mean their decor and furnishings are blah. Honestly, I would much prefer a blah color that I could live with for a while over a sage green or purple that makes me feel bad. The whole point of choosing a color scheme for selling is to create an environment that is friendly for almost everyone. Some might think my color choices are blah, but not one potential buyer or their agents have had anything but good things to say about the colors. I don't think my decor is blah either and fortunately for me I can change out my accessories without having to repaint anything...which is what I'm looking for when I go house shopping in the future. While a purple (no offense to the one with the purple room) dining room would not keep me from buying a house, I would make sure to rule out any other houses first that I didn't have to paint immediately. In the current market we're in, there are alot of houses to compete with and expressing your artistic side isn't necessarily going to sell your house quickly. It sort of stinks, but that's the way it is. I still stand my SW #16 color card...love that blah-ness. sylviatexas, love your advice!!...See MoreMy sister says blah blah blah
Comments (27)Snookums, have you ever looked at any navy counters? I did before I posted. Some are nearly black or have a lot of grey -- not that far from the slate. Sure, there are brighter blues, but that's not what I was talking about. The slate looks great and that type of navy could too -- but I probably wouldn't have suggested the idea if I had realized the OP had green (and brighter green) counters. Camarodreemer76, I'd really like to help you, but I'm having a hard time seeing the laminate with the cabinets. You are seeing them in person and I'm seeing flash photography and computer monitor images. That last photo seems to be picking up green from your counters too. My concern is whether the colors work together. I just can't see that they do on my monitor, but as I pointed out, I'm not seeing it as you are. If they do, I think the tile is nice and would use it. If not, don't rush into something that isn't right and be unhappy until you can pay again to redo it....See MoreHELP! Blah Master Bedroom
Comments (6)Thanks groveraxle! I have these curtains now, which go perfectly with the walls, but not sure how to tie in. Other two walls below. Still searching for closet doors.......See MoreMaster bedroom design and decoration.
Comments (24)I also dislike beds on the same wall as an entrance. For me Your room is hard to pick a best layout because of the door and window placement. I would normally put the bed on the longest wall access from the door or on the short wall opposite the sitting area. You didn't say what the door next to the window is....See Morehousegal200
