Need some suggestion for a triangular wall in my kitchen
Comments (6)I wouldn't put any "decor" on that wall. The focal point from that spot is the TV? Let the wall be blank. I would be tempted to replace the three small things beside the TV with a larger piece on each side. I'd remove the sign above the kitchen door as well. (I hate to dust and don't need to be reminded to eat. :)) A brighter, lighter colour on your walls might be a good idea but it's hard to say as I know pics and monitors lie about colour....See MoreNeed some suggestions
Comments (10)Thanks Yardvaark. I see the full page zoysia ads in the magazines and just have to sigh. Obviously they are making money - they haven't changed their ad in 50 years. I tried zoysia in an area of deep shade when I was in San Antonio. I planted the plugs about April and by July it was suddenly growing. In fact it was all growing at the same time and growing in a 5-ft distance outside the border where I planted it. The variety I planted was called Shadow Turf from the Turfalo company. They no longer carry that grass. But anyway right after I planted the plugs, the tree casting all the shade broke a major limb. By the time the tree trimmers got done, the new plugs were getting 5 hours of direct sun every day. With all the sun, the common bermuda got a foothold in my natural driveway next to the zoysia. I thought the zoysia would compete well against the bermuda, but it did not. At first it was a simple head to head, mutual invasion. Then the area dried out and both grasses went dormant. At the first rainfall, the bermuda woke up but the zoysia did not. That was the end for the zoysia....See MoreHave you ever closed a website? need some suggestions
Comments (0)I am going to end my website - www.accessiblegardens.org and have some questions. I see that this forum has not been very active and I hope there are a few web designers that can help me. The reason for closing is that my son, a quadriplegic, who was the inspiration for the site passes away last year and it makes me too sad to work on it. The site has been active for more than 13 years and we have recorded more than 41,000 verified visitors. We did not sell anything and we did not advertise but provided free downloads, gardening videos, projects for kids, and reached out to people of all abilities to learn how to garden safely and successfully. I have changed the auto-pay for the site name as suggested on line. I also designed a closing graphic for the home page. Another suggestion was to keep the site active so it could not be used by a new company that would look like it was the same site - and spam my old visitors. Would one year seem to be long enough? Any other ideas to close and still make the information available to people seeking access to all the lists and downloads? Hope there are a few folks out there who might have other ideas? Here is a copy of the closing graphic. Thanks...See MoreI need some suggestions!
Comments (20)Scentuous looks so so beautiful. Exactly the bloom form and color I want. Does anyone know if this rose can handle dry heat well? Second Quietness recommended by Moses. Love love it. Such a beautiful light pink. The plant is very healthy and really a no spray rose. Just shovel pruned Earth Song last weekend. I bought both Quietness and Earth Song from High country rose three years ago, and planted them side by side. While Quietness is so beautiful and healthy, Earth Song looks miserable once the summer begins. Blooms fried instantly and leaves were yellow and scorched. I guess it doesn't like our dry heat....See MoreUser
