Help With Hanging Entry Mirror and Entry Table Arrangement
Comments (10)I think you need to decide if the mirror is for primping, or just for a design statement. If you look at many foyer pix, including a couple here, the mirror is practically covered up by a larger floral arrangement directly in front of it. It is not about checking your lipstick. The reason I mention it is because I think the mirror needs to hang on the lower 2/3 of the wall space between the light and the tabletop - and likely that will make it a bit low for some people to use for grooming purposes. I think the box is nice, and can certainly sit in front of the mirror a bit. I think the floral piece is way too casual and rustic for the other pieces in the group, and also disappears as the color of the vase is almost identical (at least in the pix) to the color of the table. I would rather see you find an interesting pair of antique brass or black iron urns to place on either side of the mirror, and fill with taller greenery and branches to add volume on either side of the mirror. The paired urns would also add a more formal feel there. Consider adding a decorative mirror hanger and cording to give the mirror more vertical presence....See MoreNeed help with a small entry way. Comments (7)I don't mind the table and mirror and can't really think of anything besides art that would fit on that wall. Can't see the table details well but could it be painted? How about red to match your lovely door? What would say "fresh and cozy" to you for that space? Have you thought of a new light fixture? A runner and a larger rug in the entrance could look good. I don't find the clock visible from the door to be welcoming so I'd be tempted to remove it....See MoreInterior Wall Colors to Compliment Dark Brown Entry Door
Comments (8)That's part of the problem. When we put that floor in about 6 years ago we wnet with an inexpensive option and regret it now. We put in linoleum. It looks nice enough, but now it's hard to tie in the entry room....See MoreRug types and sizes in open dark entryway?
Comments (6)Presuming you have an excellent doormat outisde the door, how about putting a large area rug you like to be underfoot right as guests walk in, a rug that would be positioned where you currently show that light gray rug as people walk in, but much much larger. Create the space so that someone walking in has immediately to the left a neat tidy place to get rid of a wet jacket, umbrella or hat. And it’s a comfortable space for two people to stand, turn around, with the rug underfoot. Then think about adding a different round rug between the 2 closet doors in the short space of hallway leading to the kitchen. Take away that console table with the plant. Hang art on the walls instead or a mirror with a thin floating shelf. Let’s say you picked a round bright colored rug for the space closer to the kitchen. Would a square or rectangular entry rug like these work for you? nothing this elaborate, and no upper cabinets, but how about a fraction of this on the left wall as someone walks in?...See Morelisaam
