Small bathroom/laundry room remodel help with mirror and lights
Comments (4)I wouldn't use beadboard because it's cottage/beachy and your bathroom is traditional. If you want the beadboard look, I'd use a Shaker vanity. Otherwise I'd use traditional paneling with that vanity. Here are a few examples: With a warm color palette, you could use polished nickel for a little sparkle. It has a gold undertone where chrome has a blue undertone. The vanity is heavy and ornate so I'd probably look for a wood framed mirror for balance, though I'd keep it simple. I like rectangular mirrors when you are using an overhead light fixture. Something like this: https://www.build.com/avanity-brentwood-m24/s899881 Or the Avanity Madison: https://www.build.com/avanity-madison-m24/s1085061 The floor, vanity, and mirror hits my limit on brown tones, so that's why I'd use nickel lighting, faucet, and hardware. I'd use a traditional three-light fixture that's a few inches shorter than the mirror. What will the countertop be?...See MoreNeed help with small laundry room design
Comments (4)I'm no designer but can speak for the washer dryer set up. If you moved the sink left just a few inches, the extra room would make it easier to move around when doing laundry. Also, If you make sure it is at least a 27 Inch wide opening for your stacked laundry to fit into, now or for future purchases, you will have more choices but you will always find some 24 Inch models. That being said, most front load washers open right to left, however, european models such as Electrolux, Miele and others can open left to right. Also, some type of access to the back of the units for installation is always a great idea. I've seen many a designer overlook this. Maybe even provide the specs for the washer and dryer to the designer,/builder so no mistakes are made. In fact, do that for all the appliances...See MoreHelp with Wallpaper ideas for small laundry room
Comments (4)Oh Sunny1785, you can have so much fun in here with wall paper! Choose something with the dark green as an accent colour in the paper. Not a ton of the dark green, just hints. Black accents instead of green will work as well as the cabinet is dark enough to pull that off. Remove the drapery and depending on the wall paper that you choose, you may want to update the blind. Good luck and have fun with the paper!...See MoreNeed Lighting Ideas for Small Laundry Room & Basement Stairs
Comments (6)Copy that! You may be able to keep what you have in place, but I would certainly make sure it has dimmer control so you're not over-bright in laundry. One additional idea for this laundry space would be undercabinet lighting (so simple now with LED strips or pucks) that's also dimmable. That might give you more targeted task lighting while working out a stain or soaking items in your utility sink without needing to reach for the overhead light. Alternatively, it could be helpful to consider moving the switched box location from overhead to the far wall (rt side, from in front of laundry units) that could help provide a beam angle into the laundry units over-shoulder for sorting and transfer, since there's less wall surface behind from that perspective that isn't shared with the hall area. In tall, narrow stair halls like this, I often recommend a plan of wall lamps that uplight the tall vault and bounce the light down into the pedestrian area versus directional beams down from overhead. When placed at the right elevation over and above personal height, they don't have to interfere with traffic clearances even in a super-tight space. Hope that helps, cheers!...See Moreseasdepths
