Backsplash Ideas for U Shaped Kitchen & Bay Window
Comments (5)Having recently toiled through tiling our backsplashes, I would be leery of taking the tile up between windows: lots of cuts! I would tile behind the sink for sure. We used a 4" x 10" white subway from Floor & Decor, and replaced the window trim to ensure that everything fit together. Any chance that you would paint the trim? If so, you could sneak in a slightly wider or narrower piece at the bottom of the sink window. Or, you could use a 4" tile and add a small trim piece stained to match the window frame, or look for 5" or 6" tiles and trim them down. Mosaic tile sheets might be an option; easy to separate rows of tiles to custom fit....See MoreHelp arranging living room with diagonal wall, bay window, & fireplace
Comments (3)Here is how I would arrange it. Not having dimension, this is obviously not to scale, but gives you general idea. I'd use round features when possible to eliminate the look of the angled wall. Example: here I used a round rug and chairs. I don't know how much space is in the bay window area or if you need to place a dining table there. But, if so, this is one option of how to fit a dining table in smaller space: scoot it up to the back of the sofa. I also do not have information on what furniture you have, but I would not use 2 sofas as the current owner is showing. I'd use one sofa and a couple of chairs, as show below. Hope that helps. Let me know if I can help further....See MoreHelp with backsplash corners layout in bay window
Comments (8)You have the wrong tile guy. Don’t move forward with anyone who can’t miter. Do expect to pay for someone with better skills. The average good quality time contractor charges $1500-2500 for a backsplash like you want. Maybe more if there’s more not visible....See MoreHelp with window treatments for Victorian bay windows and picture rail
Comments (9)First off you have beautiful home and congratulation on your new home. I'd suggest going to the floor if you're going to go with curtains on these window and if you're okay with going above the picture rail i'd suggest that. Going above the rail will just add height to your room. 1/4'' is going to be too narrow to do an inside mount. If you like the idea of having some of your trim show you can always mount on your trim, but just don't cover it all. Honeycomb and roller shades would be good pairing options with curtains. A roller shade will project out farther than a honeycomb shade.... just something to consider. If you're open to suggestions on an alternative option consider an Illusion shade. They have a modern look and give you versatility with light and privacy. The illusion shades are beautiful on their own or look nice with panels as well....See Moreeliseharrison
