Howdy! A fairly nice day, in the 50s, didn't need a coat even though I brought one and wore it earlier in the day. Went to a little town about an hour from where I live, Stanford KY, to meet a friend I used to work with. Had lunch at a cute little cafe in town and then we went Christmas shopping in the little shops on main street. Had a nice time. Came back to town and went grocery shopping. Store was packed but surprisingly when I went to check out I was right behind someone who was nearly finished. Had to wait about 5 minutes while this older woman chit chatted about her husband's hospital stay with the cashier. Felt like a half hour as I was in a hurry but I'm sure it was only like 5 minutes-lol.

Now I'm making white chicken chili. Managed to burn 3 of my fingers when I went to move a plate off a burner, that I accidently (I can't spell that word for some reason) instead of the front burner. Don't see any damage, blistering so that's good. I had started the chili but forgot to sautee onions first so was trying to do that separately.

Doing laundry now, paying bills and get ready for work tomorrow. Working dayshift. Good thing I only got about 6 hours of sleep last night, should be tired tonight. Hope you all had a great day!

Oh, found some adorable ornaments at one shop. Little mini jars with ribbon and a tiny sign hanging from them, one says "joy", another "noel" and third one I bought "peace". I bought one first and then went back to get the other two. They're for other people, not me. I have way too many ornaments as it is.

Sorry that the fingers got burnt. Glad there wasn't any real discernible damage. A little while back I decided to toast one of my oven mitts luckily I got to it before it decided to turn into a fire. I'm very glad we have good fire extinguishers ready in case it does go bad and also our smoke detectors work very well.

It's been a quiet day for us after a very busy week:-). We went and did some shopping then lazed about with our dogs for the rest of the day. We did buy a picture for one of our walls and I've got it propped up against the fireplace mantel right now.

I would like to completely automate my bills although I am a little nervous about it as we used to live so close to a food or heat kind of life that it's a bit nerve-racking to commit like that.

We finally put our wreath on our door. Tomorrow after I've shampoo cleaned a couple of pieces of furniture that just need a real good going over I will start unpacking Christmas decorations. I'll be throwing a bunch out and keeping only the favourites.

I'm just about ready for sleep. Good night. Sleep tight:-)

Oscularia deltoides is a good choice. It spreads its dense blue carpet quickly. Most sedums will look great. Try Sedum spathulifolium, or any of the myriad Sedum rubrotinctum hybrids like 'Aurora', or Sedum spurium hybrids like 'Dragon's Blood'. Sounds like you are enjoying your relaxing time off. I spent a wonderful afternoon shopping at the mall with my granddaughter who is going into 7th grade this year. She was quite pleased to find Converse sneakers, two cute tops, and a pullover. Lunch at Nordstrom's. This week turned out to be very grandchild focused as I spent time with the 4 who live close by. Leaving at 5:30 in the morning tomorrow to "watch" eldest grandson run in his cross country. The not fun part is that the meet is two hours away and the forecast is for rain; the fun part is the time spent with my daughter and grandson. My daughter and I will chat- grandson will probably be dead asleep.

Both Marilyn and Raven have mail from me. I have been busy with their GFM pages. Boy, oh boy... so many thank you's to send.... There is no reason to quit contributing once the stated goal is reached. I had to put an amount in there... to get the ball rolling. I guestimated amounts to buy a mobility chair, and on Marilyns page, to replace the pickups. We want more than the total in there anyway... go fund me keeps their cut too. Other than that, I bought stuff for on the bottom of Charlottes chairs, to keep from getting my floor scratched up, and a couple of shoe shelves. Yes, Charlotte did move in here while I was gone. So far we get along famously. :) I also visited with a girlfriend and showed her my crazyguy pages pictures. Ling's English isn't to good, and she could not figure out how to navigate there. I'm thinking of everyone. I was supposed to use my antique (1990, owned it since then) Miata until Halloween. Yesterday, I went to shift into first to take off at a light. It went into gear, but the wheels didn't move. Stuck in gear. In the middle of a VERY busy road. In rush hour traffic. Because it was stuck in gear, and wouldn't go into neutral, I couldn't push it. Sigh. I called the police immediately so they could direct traffic and help ameliorate congestion. Got a tow truck. Got the car home. And all modes of transport into the city were unavailable at that point, so I gardened, and decided to ride in with my son today, and ride home on the train today. Wow. Rode a different bus to the train station than typical because of Friday traffic, and hoof it down Broadway. Wow the mouths of the people on that bus were awful. It's typically fun camaraderie. Not today. Then, getting down Broadway was, um, interesting. Apparently, everyone evacuated to Nashville and bar hop. So many drunks to wade through. Ugh. We live in this city to raise our families, we're not interested in the party crowd. I thought the train would be better since I'd be riding with two friends, but a fourth joined us and the discussion was, well, raunchy. I MUST fix my car tomorrow. I was so ready for peace and quiet, I walked from the train station, a mile and half to gain my composure. Got to Starbucks and had a cuppa and took a deep breath. Much better. Watched videos on how to rebuild my shifter and ready to do it now. We'll do it tomorrow afternoon. In the sunlight, rather than the dark.

Thank you I'm very pleased with it. I love the Fall colors. We have some winter scapes as well so I thought nobody would notice that a little bit of fall was in my living room :-)

It's 37degrees out, wind is blowing & the furnace is staying on/lit.....yeah now it's scheduled to be replaced it's working fine! :0) It's 33 years old, it's time.

The boy did exactly as expected at Mid-State, rotten, but he made an appearance, just like he was required to do. He saw two of MY friends, along with many of his friends, except he waited until he got back to the car to tell me. That dog. I would've loved to have spoken to them. Oh well. We had a great time going out for lunch and getting our See's candy. So tasty! On the way back to the house, we took turns picking songs to play via bluetooth. We each were letting the other into a part of world that the other rarely gets to see, instead of picking the songs we typically pick. Not only was he surprised I liked his heavy metal song, I was. But really, I don't like heavy metal when you can't understand what they're saying. I could understand their words. Something about living a real life, like staying off texting and talking face to face. Sounded good to me! We had a blast.

Sunday, we not only got tires and windshield wipers for the car, they gave me a discount so I got an alignment. My goodness it's nice to have my new car be new again. Put the Christmas lights up outside, and decorated inside, listening to Polar Express as we did. Nice weekend.

Today is sunny and warm (five degrees from the record), but not only is it supposed to rain tomorrow? it's supposed to drop in temperature, dramatically. It'll be a nice way to get me into the Christmas spirit!
