Hi, Sue. Nope, but I will start next weekend. I include a note, too, as my cards go to family and a few friends. People who are local don't get a card, but others I see once a year or less than that because of the physical distance. My husband just signs his, so if I have time, I write a note in them, too. I have such mixed feelings about Christmas cards. I love sending them and go to a great deal of trouble to write a few words in each card, yet most cards I receive are just the family Christmas picture without so much as a signature on the photo. I am thinking this year may be the year I stop sending Christmas cards.

I have them, but haven't started them. Over the Thanksgiving break we will take pictures of DD to include with cards. That's probably the main reason we still send cards is to share her picture. I love to send and receive cards, and love to get update letters (though don't always write them myself), but it seems like so many people don't do that anymore, it feels odd to be the one who does.

I haven't. I love Christmas cards with letters that tell what the family did that year. I know some people don't like them and consider them bragging...but I enjoy the few I get. I have been so busy lately....I haven't had time to call my soul my own. I am waiting on a day that I won't have anything else to do. I really hate the days that I have to go somewhere and will be gone most of the day. I have to go to Houston tomorrow to get a truck load of salvage dog food, and it will take the entire day. Happy to have the food but hate being gone all day.

I'll write mine during the Thanksgiving weekend. I just sent Thanksgiving cards out yesterday, so I'll have to think of something new to say for the Christmas cards.

Yes! The past 3-4 years I have taken a photo of us on vacation and used Tiny Prints (which is now part of Shutterfly) to create a card. It has saved me a lot of time. Already have the cards, now just have to address and send out which I will do soon after Thanksgiving.

I haven't managed to get any out now for about 5 years. Each year I think I'm going to do it - some years I've even scanned the photos and written a letter. I get hung on getting the envelops addressed - hate doing that. I may try this year, but don't put money on it!

I have all of my cards made and the envelopes all addressed. Still need to put the stamps on. I don't usually include any kind of note or letter, but might give that a thought. Usually I just sign the cards and often add "Hugs and love".

No. I used to enjoy sending Christmas cards. But, I don't send them anymore. A few years ago, I picked out some beautiful cards with winter scenes, silver glitter, and animals (e.g. deer). I picked them out because I thought they were really pretty. I thought they were the prettiest cards I'd ever seen. They wished people Happy Holidays inside, as part of the greeting. I forget what else they said, but I thought it was really nice and it certainly wasn't a statement on my part about religion or anything like that. My in-laws (and one other family) were pretty nasty about it, telling me they didn't want any card that wished people Happy Holidays and my in-laws said that it'd better say Merry Christmas if I sent them a card in the future. I was incredibly upset by how they acted and I decided I wouldn't ever send them a card again. Then, I started wondering if other people were offended by my cards because they might not say the right thing. So, I just decided to stop sending cards altogether. :(

I stopped sending cards several years ago. The only family I have is my sister (who will get an e-card) and some distant cousins. Most of my friends no longer send cards either so I don't feel the need to send cards to them. I dont mind not receiving cards and I like the time freed up by not having to write notes in each, address the envelopes and sending them out.

I've actually always enjoyed the cards... I usually put in a personal note (people I know less well get less of a note...) and I count them as a major part of the home decor. I get less and less each year, since it seems to be a dying tradition.

I have the photos picked out for this year's Christmas cards and have composed the greetings, probably will start printing them the last week of this month. The price of printer ink has gone up so much. I swear I used to get more cards out of a color cartridge then I did last year.

Similar to veggiegardnr, I've had comments made but not about the wording of the holiday message (as far as I know) but the fact that I actually send cards. Some have said, "Nobody sends cards anymore!" or "Cards are so commercial and a waste of paper" something to that effect. They get cards anyway. ha. But maybe not this year! I do get appx. the same number in return as I've sent out.

I don't know why recipients of a gift (because that's what a card is, a gift of my time and energy) would respond negatively. I don't care if I get a card in return, but most of the people to whom I send cards are happy to get them. I use the opportunity to write a quick note to keep in touch. I only send cards to people that I don't see during the holidays.

My annual letter is done. I prefer to receive greetings that have something personal in them. A picture, a note. I find just signed, mass produced boxed cards cold and not worth the effort and money put into them. They confuse me. Facebook seems to have decreased the NEED to reach out. Many reach out daily now where they didn't before. I get that, but I miss the display the cards made on my cupboards. I find it sad that anyone would TELL SOMEONE how to send out or not send out THEIR cards. That person would for sure get removed from next years' list. I am SOLIDLY a Merry Christmas sort of gal but to take offense to a "happy holiday", happy hanukkah, season's greetings seems to negate the point all together. That is sad to me.
