Make Your Own String-Art Holiday Card
Using just a needle and thread, you can decorate a plain piece of card stock with a pretty Christmas tree
Christmas is the time to show the people in your life how much you appreciate them. Why not do that with a homemade card? Follow these instructions to make a string-art card featuring a Christmas tree.
Instructions
1. Thread the needle. Working from behind the front of the card, pass the needle to the front at the point where you want the top of the Christmas tree to be. Bring the thread down and to the left, poke a hole, and draw the thread through to create the first branch of the top tier. Pull the needle to the front again through the original hole.

2. Repeat, this time drawing the thread down and to the right through a hole opposite the first. As shown in the photo, the two lines of thread should more or less form two sides of an equilateral triangle.
3. Repeat steps 1 and 2 to create more lines of string between the first two. You can vary the distance between the lines, but note that placing them too close to one another may cause the card stock between the holes to break.
4. Repeat steps 1 through 3 to make the next tier of branches. The top hole of the second tier should be pierced through the center (in terms of both height and width) of the first triangle.
Repeat steps 1 through 4 for additional tiers of branches.

Tip: On my Christmas card, I made a three-tiered tree out of triangles that are roughly the same size. However, you can vary the triangle sizes and make as many tiers as the dimensions of the card allow.
5. If desired, attach decorations, such as snowflakes or a star, with glue.
6. Using a label maker, print out “Merry Christmas” or another greeting and attach it to the card. Or, if you have nice handwriting, write your greeting in India ink or with a ballpoint pen.
