I have no pictures to share but I do have some advice. My daughter recently moved out and we are using her room as a guest room now. I spent a couple of nights in it to get a feel for what it might need. I noticed that the bedtable didn't have a good light and that the ceiling fan was unbalanced. I went out and bought a good reading lamp and balanced the fan. I also put in a clockradio and a variety of magazines. I think it's nice to have a TV, too.

On the whole, I really like your guest room. When it comes to reading lamps, though, I'm totally hardcore ;~D. I want ~ I NEED~ good, proper-sized, 3-way reading lamps for each person. Although I like your present lamp, I agree with Graywings, that dual, wall-hung lamps would be better. I've always disliked lights on fans. As GW's has already mentioned, they tend to cast a harsh light in the room at night. I do like your ceiling fan and think you should keep it or another similar one. Love your beds, too! SW Sea Salt is a beautiful and restful color- allow IT to shine, not become a backdrop for a bright patterned bed-in-the-bag set. Make the room fell larger by drawing the eye to the entire room, not a narrow focus to the patterned bed. I'd choose a hotel look-white duvet!, as it will not limit your other choices in the room (Pillows, wall art, drapes, rug? ). Add contrast to the cool blue green gray of sea salt with warmer or dark wood tones... An old design rule- every room needs a bit of black- - think curtain rod or darker night stands (new or painted dark) Darker nightstands look gender neutral, whereas white nightstands will lean feminine. Mirrored or silver nightstands only offer one look-glam feminine.. Add some light reflective shimmer- silver metallic lamps (or Mercury glass) Below pic shows an accent mirror above and between he beds. For a more modern log home you would pick colors the same way you would in a regular home - bring all your pieces together and draw a color out of them...if you are really feeling the country then you may want to be in sage greens, pumpkin, fall reds and things like that. I do agree - no need to paint before cabinets go in - don't rush... find colors you are drawn to and paint poster boards and hang them up and look at them for a week or so... Good luck!
