Comments (38)@mamapinky, in your case, it's my opinion that appliances from that era weren't exactly BOL. I mean, you could purchase ANY dishwasher and get the exact same results. The same goes for ovens, and refrigerators. Things we're made, much much better then. Dishwashers actually used water. And, with Detergent's... formulated well, it didn't really make a difference what model you had. You'd still get a clean load of dishes. One of my favorite dishwashers, actually was a BOL GE Triton from a Disney Grand Floridian Resort Villa. I joke about that, because, they we're probably the cheapest, builder grade appliances they could find. But... every single load, would come out, completely immaculate. Even the tough stuff, like oatmeal stuck on bowls & stuck on egg, just rinsed completely away with the Phosphate Detergent packets they gave us. Like I said, older appliances, we're much better made. I don't think it really mattered what you bought ;)...See MoreMama pinky, mama pinky help!
Comments (47)I'm glad you got that out..way to go...chlorine bleach can at times remove things like this...but at the cost of breaking down the fibers. I agree some of us spend what seems like extra time on stains at times..however chlorine won't remove everything and there's risks involved with it..it causes yellowing and a breakdown of fabrics if caution isn't used. I'm not against Chlorine Bleach, not at all, it has it place for sure, but it also requires proper knowelage of its use or clothing can be ruined. What you did was brave, I would never have applied this straight onto fabric, but I'm glad it worked out for you. I'm thinking it wasn't oxidized otherwise the chlorine would most likely have turned it a lovely shade of yellow. I just realized yoi left it on for an hour..that's real bravery lol....See MoreMamaP's FL questions, comments ect...
Comments (162)There's nothing wrong with the machine or this brand. ALL these machines have hidden functions programmed into the software that is activated sometimes by a certain sequence of buttons. These finds are not documented anywhere and most times the manufacturer don't even know they exist. Many times the same control unit is used across several models with different features implemented in different ways for different models. It's about cost, and rather than engineering and manufacturing 5 different control units for 5 different models, one core unit is developed and features are implemended via software, or different logic lines on the LED control panel. A series of specs is developed and bid out for manufacture and design. Whirlpool does not produce their own in house electronics....See MoreMamaPinkys Laundry Detergent Flea Market
Comments (36)I called my local community action program to check into Meals on Wheels for these folks..geesh they have to call themselves..guess I'll take a picnic to them at the flea market this weekend and just come out and tell them about this program and give them the #. I'm also taking a styrofoam cooler with ice and a few quarts of my soup to take home along with some ham slices, and a loaf of my banana bread. I'll also send a loaf of homemade bread that I'll pick up sat morning at the bakery. This is such a small amount that I wwon't even miss it but I'll know they are eating for a few days. I probably can't do this every week..but somehow I'll get them involved with the meals program ...than I will call it a day. One other thing they save aluminum cans that they haul into the scrap yard...I talked to the drunk across the street yesterday and he's going to save his beer cans so that approx 30 cans a day. Lol. Enough about this onto laundry....See MoreElmer J Fudd
