I'm so excited! My first seedlings popped up!
Comments (48)Man, I can't believe all the stuff you guys do to germinate these babies. I like my method of just sticking them in the starter greenhouse and setting it in the breezeway. I guess if you don't have a cold room or area like that to put them, it is necessary to refrigerate them. I'm just so excited about them popping up in the starter cells without any fuss. I see new seedlings popping up all the time. I had one whole section of the cells that I was afraid weren't going to do anything, but when I got home for lunch today, another new baby had begun to emerge in that section, finally! I filled up two more of those 72-cell starters last weekend, and I can't wait to see what they produce. My biggest baby already has split and is branching out in two directions!! I'll have a tiny rose "bush" soon!! That one is from ELSIE MELTON. My best germinator so far tho, seems to be LAVANDE. There are 6-7 of them! I can't wait to see how different each one will be. This is so much fun!!...See MoreMy first wintersowing project! Tips? Very excited!!
Comments (39)Thank you so much docmom for basically holding my hand so far! lol i watered the seed trays in the greenhouse today :) there was condensation and some seemed dried out a little...and omg, i bought like 3 or 4 books on seed saving and seed planting different seeds. the one contains info on planting alot of different varieties and care on each plant and i keep it close with me when new seeds arrive!! I also can not wait to attempt to save more varieties this year and have much more to offer in fall if all goes right!! I've also informed several family members, if this all goes good, i might have extras to give away. also might do some flemarket or yarden sales in the future...I really love gardening and I'm so glad I am taking time to do a hobby that I love so much again! I would love to find a job in gardening in the future or just to sell a few plants at fleamarkets and stuff. The garden is fun but it's also more enjoyable when you have people ooo and ahhhh over your plants and are asking you questions or ideas. :) : ) :) Thank you so much! ~michael P.S. Even without sprouts, I am thoroughly enjoying this new project and experience!...See More2 1/2 years been waiting to say this..with excitement
Comments (16)Hi Tony, Yay isn't that neat.. Yes, am trying hard to get hybrids, have my collection back up to about 26 or so..Both of the plants, and the older one with so many inflo's has no leaves either, aztec gold and the think Heidi are in the ground, also in ground with inflo is playful..no leaves..do water, don't know. . Pacific Pearl and Daisy have no leaves, inflo came, claws are just starting to come up. Plastic pink has all of the winter leaves on, never shed any? I discovered another inflo coming on a mystery one given to me. Now I just transplanted them the middle of march into 7 gallon containers, quite a bit of water then.. then week or so later fed them all a half dose of food and later superthrive.. don't know. did I push them?? then got warm too. YAY for you...13 inflo's that is absolutely fantastic!! what plant is it? Bet will be outstanding. I never knew you could get that many on a plant..like I see think 5 or 6 on one..I always just have one cascade.. so guess then the age helps. I am still learning, appreciate all your help. Karen B.....See MoreExcited about new growth finally.
