will this sectional fit properly??
Hello! found a sectional we really like and its a 5 piece (the model in the picture but without the console, just 2 seats-corner wedge- 2 seats; an L shape, 103"/8.58' each length and width), 39"d) My question is this, will it fit properly in the living room? the room itself is 11x14 with 8ft wide windows, and totally open to the kitchen/breakfast area behind, plus open to the dining area just below. I don't know much about design and furniture placement so I want to make sure I am not blocking flow from the kitchen too much and yes I know it's bulky furniture but DH has his heart set on a reclining leather sectional and this is literally the only one from a dozen stores that even remotely fits into my color scheme (white, light grey, driftwood). the picture is to scale... also need suggestions if other furniture fits, perhaps a single chair in the bottom left corner? I am thinking the white ikea Liatorp (36"x36") coffee table and maaaaybe if it fits the smaller Liatorp end table (22"x15") between the sofa and the wall at the top left. thanks!!

Comments (8)I looked at the dimensions on the Pottery Barn sectionals last night on line and I was impressed that it said the seat depth was about 23". Overall depth was 35"...so that seems to me like the back pillows would have be pretty supportive to prevent us from feeling like we were falling backwards but at least it might be worth trying. I also want to go try the Clayton Marcus at our nearby stores but unfortunately DS is home sick and I think may be tomorrow as well so it may be Friday or this weekend before I can pick up where I left off. Comments (5)That is the only living space in the house. It's a townhouse we're renting for a year or two. We sacrificed on space to be close to the beach, which has been an awesome choice, until Irma, of course. We don't have any other "real" furniture for the living area, and we wanted to avoid purchasing anything until we bought a home, but when the old sofa had to go, we had to replace that. So we don't have any other seating, but it's really not a big deal. We don't have kids or family in the area, and we don't have a bunch of people over at one time, so the sectional is enough for our current needs. Is there anything in particular you would suggest for ottomans? I would like something that fits physically with the sofa to get something close to a chaise feel without having to close off the space permanently as you would with a chaise. As a retailer, I don't know what your budget is and as such can't make a recommendation since I have sectionals in all price ranges. Comments (7)love love our maiden home thompson bed and jones sectional. i did more reaearch then i care to admit befor buying and think quality and design wise its a few notches above. joybird, article, burrow are not really comparable - they are closer to the ikea end of the spectrum. i think of my maiden home stuff as rh level design but far better quality (made in north carolina) and a much more reasonable price. hope that helps!...See MoreSteph Castonguay
