Crate and Barrel Axis ii Sectional Owners - Feedback Requested Please!
Comments (61)As someone who used to work at C&B in furniture, for 7 years, the Axis (Douglas) fabric is amazing. It is great! You will have a hard time finding something that wears better or cleans more easily. The fabric also has a 100,000 rub count, which means it can even hold up to commercial use. This fabric is not meant for the washing machine though some of you may have had luck doing this. It doesn't mean you can't do this, but you are doing this at your own risk (kind of luck running a marathon after 50). Pretty much only slipcovers, (if they have a W cleaning code) are appropriate for washing machines. That is just a Public Service Announcement. Otherwise, spot clean with distilled water and a mild foam/soap cleanser. The material type and make of the Douglas fabric help with it's water repellency. This water phobia will eventually lessen, but you should be good for years....See MoreCouches & Colors to Match this Sectional
Comments (13)I doubt it, but I just love this chair - if your palette included deep plum/ raisin, could be ok. Comments (2761)@Janice Maxwell, please don't paint your front door brown. The red is so wonderful on your house. As far as hardware on the house and shed, go with whatever color you like the best. For myself, I prefer the Satin Nickle, but that is me. If you prefer the Venetian Bronze, keep that....See MoreNeed sectional sofa area rug ideas!
Comments (23)If your mantle and mahogany choices are staying- at least for foreseeable future- I’d get them in place first, but meanwhile “ collect “ rugs in your inspo book - some plain, some patterned. If you have kids you may not want a solid cream rug! I do love that patterned rug as it makes the floor color look great yet blends warm and cool for gray walls/ furniture and warm floors , warm wood furniture. So much more interesting and lively than gray gray gray. I tone who thinks bits of black are ok with dark brown furniture or vice versa, not all matchy, and it’s not hard to repeat a few black accents. OTOH you might find a similar rug with chocolate brown. Meanwhile if you want to play with some colors and patterns IRL you could find some pillows that are returnable and see how you’re leaning. Pillows can be found cheaply but then may be … cheap. I always try to get removable zipper covers in fabrics that feel good, can be washed, and use feather inserts ( although some folks prefer poly fills), and & try to find ones I love looking at, then I can keep pillows fresh & switch covers occasionally by storing covers themselves....See MoreRelated Professionals
