Guest Picks: 20 Stylish, Comfortable Sectionals
For ultimate lounging or entertaining a crowd, a sectional sofa has extra space covered

I have been on the hunt for comfortable and stylish sectionals for a few clients. Sometimes they are the perfect solution for a room design to maximize seating and create a welcoming space. The key to making it work is to draw a floor plan so you can see exactly what sectional configuration will fit in your space. Most manufacturers provide various options depending on your room layout. My preference is for an L-shape with both sides being of equal size. Sectionals come in every style to suit your tastes and budget. Slipcovered, tufted, tailored — the looks are endless! — Vanessa from Decor Happy
This seagrass sectional lends itself to a cottage, covered porch or sunroom. It adds a lot of texture to a space.
When I saw this piece featured in Sheryl Crow’s home in a magazine, it confirmed that indeed sectionals can be elegant and glamorous.
This sectional is perfect for small spaces where you want to maximize seating. The armless and backless feature on one end would open up the room.
This says lounge! I can picture a family of five seated comfortably and munching on popcorn for movie night.
This sectional is 44 inches deep, making it perfect for sinking into. The double nailhead trim on the arms adds a touch of elegance.
If you have the space, you can add a chaise to one end of the sectional. I’m sure everyone will be clamoring to get that seat!
The thin arms and legs lend a Mad Men-esque vibe to this sleek sectional. It is stocked in this lovely gray fabric — the perfect neutral.
If I had a finished basement or a room large enough to accommodate this, I think my daughter would love it for slumber parties. There are endless possibilities as to how you can configure it.
You can't beat the price for this stylish sectional. The removable covers, which can be washed or dry cleaned, make this a favorite for those with kids.
I just ordered the sofa version of this sectional for my sister. It’s so comfortable thanks to it’s generous depth and down-filled seat and back cushions.
This piece is from designers Steven and Chris (love those guys). Its clean lines and diminutive scale make it well suited for small spaces.
Here's a sectional from Ikea that is easy on the wallet. I have the sofa version of this sectional and it has held up surprisingly well for nine years.
I love the single bench seat and wood detail on this sectional. One side is 124 inches, so it needs a large room.
This track arm sectional is a timeless classic. Seat cushions can be wrapped with down for extra “sink in” comfort.
I love the slipcovered version of this sectional. It looks relaxed in this stocked linen fabric.
The natural brass nailheads add detail and the eight-way hand-tied steel springs ensure this sectional is well made.
This 1930s-inspired sofa looks perfect in this bold, blue fabric. Having one side without an arm makes it feel airy and therefore perfect for small spaces.
A client of mine recently loved the "test drive" of this sectional. It comes with a bumper on one end so it feels less bulky.
It's no secret I am not a fan of leather. But if I was, this tailored sectional with nailhead trim would make me take notice.
This is not what you think of when you hear the word “sectional.” This is sleek and elegant with the practicality of a slipcover. It can be configured to a length of over 13 feet on one side.

It's too bad this article isn't more specific. There is nothing written here that can't be seen by the photos & dimensions. How much more helpful to read: "Seat isn't deeper than usual but an angled back adds more comfort" or "great price and style but frame is lightweight and fabric is coarse" or "not a stunning design but they got the ergonomics right" etc.
Shopping starts online, and so many options are available it is an endless task to juggle quality, looks, comfort, durability and advantageous pricing. It would have been great to hear reviews from someone who actually saw these in person - and examined and sat in them. If you have more to add about these, I'm sure we'd find it useful.
