I fried a chicken. Made gravy. In 2 hours I'll decide what else when dinner is served.

Im having a frozen pizza.

Since we're all home together for several days, I've planned several days of various soups. I had a sausage, spinach, and white bean soup planned. My middle child begged for potato soup instead. At least it's easy. No one complained.

Chicken stir fry with egg rolls and rice. So yummy!

Friend brought over a huge slice of taco pie.........oh, my, was that good!

Fresh corn on the cob from our CSA box along with Salsbury steak made from our locally sourced grass fed beef with rice.

Spaghetti with Italian sausage. My house smells so good right now!

Ancient grain oatmeal from Trader Joe's was my best meal so far. I woke up late today, in the afternoon. Now I'm eating lunch: Sonic jr. cheeseburger, which isn't great. I have some chicken thighs thawing in the fridge and bought some green beans and new red potatoes yesterday at a farmer's market when me and my daughter were running all over town. I mainly went for their peaches, which are usually wonderful, this time they weren't quite ripe. Didn't feel like thawing the chicken in the microwave and cooking the veggies. But am thinking of tossing this awful burger and just eating a peach. Anyway, going to make some of the green beans later with potatoes and onions. Will eat a little for a late night dinner tonight. Tomorrow I'll bake the chicken to go with the rest.

After my "bee" incident I wasn't feeling like making anything too complicated. I cooked some smoked sausage in a pan with mushrooms, garlic, and jalapeno pepper, and separately boiled some pirogies and green beans and then just mixed it all together.

Did some prep today as it's going to be hot tomorrow (and we don't have AC). Our favorite meal for hot weather is Bún thịt nướng: rice noodles with grilled meat, which is a Vietnamese cold rice-noodle salad.

We use a base of chopped romaine, then a layer of rice vermicelli. We leave out the bean sprouts (can't stand them), and sprinkle on fresh cilantro. I make fresh cucumber and carrot pickles to add in.

Rather than making grilled pork, I like to make this with leftover grilled steak. The dressing is nước chấm, made with nước mam fish sauce - I use only half the amount of lime juice, however, which is what my DH prefers.

Too hot for regular meals. Grazing day. Main meal was a shrimp basket at a drive-in late this evening. I took the dog with me so she could get out for a bit too. Outdoor seating and they like dogs.

I was sick and on a med that made me very woozy - couldn't go out with DH to meet friends for supper at a local bar/restaurant. He brought me home my favorite green chile lobster mac & cheese.
