What's for Dinner ... Friday?
Comments (15)Jasdip, lol....I was absolutely being silly, but it turns out that the history behind the colorful name is murky, at best. All of the many stories go pretty much down the same path...it's fast and easy! We babysat for the two little girls who live next door with their grandfather, our much loved neighbor. He had his first date in the many years since his dear wife died! These little girls have real separation anxiety issues and this was the first time that he had left them at night since he took them into his home. I fixed 'breakast for dinner'; pancakes made to order, ham sausage patties, scrambles eggs, and fresh fruit. I let them pick out their pancake ingredients from little bowls of chocolate chips, chopped apple, blueberries, peanut butter, nuts, apricot preserves, and strawberry jam. Just one pancake each, but they really loved their whole supper....See MoreWhat's on the menu for your main meal today...Saturday?
Comments (33)Friends of ours had a 50th Anniversary party last night at the hunt club with about 85 people in attendance. The catered meal was sliced beef tenderloin with a horseradish sauce, chicken marbella, smashed potatoes, roast asparagus and roast carrot sticks. When dessert was brought out, I was talking to a couple who run a local winery and so got in line for dessert late, and just missed the last piece of chocolate pie, and the other two options of coconut cake and rhubarb cobbler didn't tempt me....See MoreAnything special for your main meal today (Fri)?
Comments (22)adellabedella_usa, I made a roasted tomato salsa with the last of my tomato harvest this year. It was so good that, I've been buying tomatoes ever since and making a weekly batch. I eat it with sliced avocados, scrambled eggs, warmed corn tortillas, and occasionally chips....See MoreWhat's for dinner (or your main meal)?
Comments (41)I was out on business calls all day and pooped by the time I got home late afternoon so I did breakfast for dinner as well.....mushroom and chicken liver omlette. One of my favorites. And sourdough toast. I have been in the mood for lasagna (who knows why!!) but really only like homemade so will be attempting to make a small sized dish of it today. Lasagna for one?? We'll see how well that goes :-) My sister is off pasta these days (slimming) and my freezer won't accommodate much of anything and after one leftover meal, I've had enough. Hard to cook stuff like that for a single person and not waste it............See More- 8 years ago
