Comments (44)Mindy et al, I got that tall blue pot I had my eye on. It might have been $200 marked down to 40 marked down to TEN DOLLARS. I also got a big metal/copper bucket marked down from at least 150 to $37.50 (I don't think she did the math right. I'll have to check in the morning. I had wanted something like a watering trough near the bees, and this might fill the bill. Or we can use it for logs. That magnificient green pot. I met the nice guy who works the floor. I told him what I wanted to pay for it and without my knowing it he called the ?manager? anyway a woman, and she no way was she going below $160. I think the problem is there was no pink marked down price, so it was 75 % off 699. I really don't want to pay that much because I know I won't move it in freezing weather, and it may break. I'm only willing to risk 100 or less. If anyone can talk them down to $100 or less, I'll take you to LaPatisserie for lunch or Quebrada in Arlington for a cake. Could also do Lakota for a dozen cookies. There's a challenge for the bargainers out there! I'll pay you back in cash and could even meet you at Mahoneys to load and transport pot. Mindy, I saw two "maroonish" pots (one upside down, the other on top) on the pallet, next to the sky blue tall. Are those the ones you are talking about? If there was a salmon pot in the "transition room" I missed it entirely. I'm not looking at your post right this second, but I thought you said it had some branches dispayed it it. I'll look again, maybe when I check to see if the christmas tree is marked down. I wasn't too offended by the look of its branches. But then I had pots on my mind. Comments (41)I ordered several delta Cassidy items as well! Unfortunately almost all my bathroom Cassidy items are back ordered but I've got plenty of time since our slab was just poured today. I contacted them today to confirm which items were back ordered so that I'd know what to expect in the shipment and it's a good thing I did! They were holding the rest of my order until those few items showed up at the distribution center. They'll go ahead and send what's in stock if you contact them (they offered, I didn't have to ask). My order contains 32 items and they're not being delivered to the job site so breaking it up into smaller deliveries is definitely a good thing!...See MoreAnyone Else Do Cash For Clunkers?
Comments (53)Well -- our old USED cars were bought in 1997: a) 1993 BMW wagon (146,000 miles) and had been repaired MANY times -- and currently needed the whole AC replaced. Frankly I was getting too scared to drive her anymore -- wondering what would break down next. This car did NOT qualify for the program -- and became a trade-in. I would imagine that its value was in the parts that I replaced over the last two years! So its parts may benefit someone! b) 1993 Lexus (185,000 miles) This car DID qualify for the program -- and was leaking "something" onto the driveway -- and the very last time DH drove it to the dealership -- even HE said that he was glad for it to be gone too! Interior lights didn't work; the sunroof didn't work -- lots of mechanical issues. I really don't think the either car would be a good "clunker" for anyone else -- unless they had the money for the expensive repairs! WE HAD ALREADY PLANNED TO REPLACE BOTH CARS! Out of sheer necessity. Again I state: we saved for TWO years. We argued and checked out cars for last six months. We NEVER planned to get NEW cars -- the "fates" simply rolled them our way!! We had been looking for USED ones -- but the prices for the outgoing 2009 ones were NOT that much more than the used ones!!! And we negotiated HARD. And paid in cash. So the program helped us! :) We ended up with two 2009 Nissan Versas (subcompacts) with warranties for three years. Jan at the poor-but-planned Rosemary Cottage...See MoreBlack Friday deals anyone???
Comments (18)I went to Hancocks on Weds and got some fleece at a $1.00 more than the BFS price, figured I would just pay a bit extra and not stand in line waiting for cutting. Worked for me and I got what I wanted. But then on Friday afternoon after my post turkey sandwich nap, decided I would just go and see what was happening...great run. Got a 10 yard bolt of wonder under for 7.99! some 2 yd cuts of fleece for $3.99. Very surprised that the special deals were still there. Encouraged by that success proceeded to Lowes, got the 98 cent poinsettas, and $1 plexiglass cuts for the bottom of my purses (as opposed to the $9 ones available) and on to Michaels for $20 rolling scrapbook tote. All in all very successful, didn't have to get up right after midnight, didn't have to stand in line, didn't have to fight for a parking space, and got the bargains I wanted too! Now petalpatsy, are you planning on re-upholstering your new chair with your bargain chenille? if so maybe a psychiatrist could help, if not....I think you are OK! LOL but that's just me....LOL...See More
