Hi all - We applied crabgrass pre-emergent at exact right time this spring for first application, but failed to do the second application and...voila! We've got a crabgrass problem.

Here's the plan - would love to get feedback & any additional recommendations:

8/10: Apply Grub control & spray on post-emergent crabgrass killer

9/6: (4 weeks later) De-thatch lawn, pull out as much crabgrass as we can by hand (hopefully de-thatcher gets some), and then re-seed/overseed.

Our last frost date is Oct 15th. Unfortunately, the crab-grass killer forces us to wait 4 weeks after application before re-seeding, but it feels like an important step to try to kill at least some of it & hopefully prevent some more crabgrass seeds from getting into the soil in the first place.

Next year, we now know we'll need to do more than one pre-emergent treatment, but have to get back on track before then.

Thoughts?
