Will I have luck seeding bare spots in preCrabgrass treated area?

Hey guys,

I renovated my entire lawn last fall and it was beautiful, however I apparently left it too long and everyone in gods name walked through my lawn over the winter and left matted down footprints everwhere.

I couldn't take the chance with crabgrass, so March 20th I did the recommended scotts fert with halts crabgrass preventer.

I thought If I fluffed up the matted down spots with my leaf blower that the grass would come back up, but I was wrong. So this past sunday I took some nice black topsoil from my beds in the backyard and filled a wheelbarrow up and used this dirt combined with seed and starter fert in the bare areas. Do I have any chance of these seeds germinating. I was hoping the halts didn't penetrate the dead areas especially after I raked up what was dead. The raking and fresh dirt from the untreated beds in my opinion should be enough, but just wondering if anyone had any first had experience???
