check it out.... my new freecycle dining table!
Comments (9)Sorry, Tish - I posted before reading your message. My urban kitchen/dining room colours are two of those taupe shades that you see everywhere now. Mine have a pinky tone to them, though, to go with the pinky backsplash tiles all over my kitchen. You can see one of the two wall colours in the photo I posted of the new table. In the kitchen I have an island that I built, painted a very light taupe colour, with two bar stools that are iron, with light taupe upholstery on the seats. So you see, it's all very taupe :) But here's another 60s option... the name of this fabric isn't quite so interesting. Comments (65)lindanj - the company is "Cottage Home" and they sell tables made from reclaimed English pine, as well as painted farm tables and furniture made out of barn wood. They also have a nice selection of hutches and such. I may end up purchasing a hutch from them also, but I need to see how the table and chairs work in my space first. If you go to the link below and scroll down, you'll see one of their "Winston" trestles on the right side and the table just below that has the breadboard top that I ordered. They don't have a photo yet of the "Chateau" trestle base that I'm having built, but it's based on the RH table. It's nice because I was able to customize it and order an 8' table. I also ordered the 18" extension leaves, but those are extra. My table is made from reclaimed wood and will be rough hewn, but won't have the weathered gray tones like the RH table. That's fine for me because my furnishings lean more towards the brown tones and I have my choice of a light, medium, or dark brown wax finish. The company is in Maine but I was told that my table is being built in California. If you call, they are more than happy to answer any questions that you might have. They're even sending me a sample of the wood in the light brown wax. Here is a link that might be useful: Cottage Home English pine tables...See MoreLong Dining/Patio Table
Comments (5)I couldn't find any extra long patio tables when I looked a while back, so here's what I did instead. On one patio, there are two matching tables and 12 chairs that can be used separately or together. They're aluminum framed tables and the chairs have mesh sling type seats (no cushions) so they dry quickly. We've considered adding a third table, but so far have managed without it. For the adjacent sunroom, I found a maple table (Queen Anne style) with two leaves that extends to 10 ft. and 8 matching chairs. The finish isn't trendy at the moment, so it hadn't sold even after the store owner recovered the chairs and I got a great deal. The sun room is large enough to accommodate a another table, so I bought an 8 ft. folding banquet table and a fitted cover in a linen look fabric from TableVogue. I liked it so well that I bought a 6 ft. table and fitted cover, too. The smaller table is useful for setting up a buffet on the patio. For the large folding table, I bought 8 simple wood chairs on clearance that can be stored stacked in pairs, along with the folding tables, in an upstairs closet. If I wanted to use the folding tables outside, I might check out the folding chairs at Ballard Designs when they go on sale. Maybe someplace such as Pier 1 or World Market would have similar folding chairs. The ones I looked at, while not made in the US, were at least not made in China, and I like the look of them better than the metal folding chairs I recall from childhood. It sounds sort of cobbled together, but when similar table linens are used and the tableware & flowers match it all works well....See MoreMy new dining table
Comments (14)I keep telling my husband how much I love those Fleur-de-lis chairs and what I would give up to have them lol. They really aren't very expensive but we have had to replace so much. The 24th is his birthday Humm wonder if he would like chairs lol. I already bought him tools! Many of his tools and saws and machinery in the garage was ruined by the flood so we have that to deal with too. My neighbor gave him a big set of mixed tools for his toolbox for Christmas. I got him a new toolbox to put them in. I love the table and it's a large table 68x40x30 all we will need....See Morewantonamara Z8 CenTex
