Harvesting Bad Onions

It has been a wet year for us in Oklahoma. My onions are just not well. I suspect either thrip damage or bacterial issues or maybe both.

What I don't know if I should

1) Pull and try to cure
or 2) Pull and freeze immediately
or 3) Pull and toss into compost.

I had many planted too close together. I pulled some smaller ones/unhealthy looking ones last week. Most of these - the yellow sweets - were rotted when I checked on them today.

It is still very wet and cloudy and it doesn't look like we'll be having much sun for the next week.

I'm not certain what to look for or what to do. Any advice is appreciated.
