I'm making a Weight Watcher soup recipe. It is rainy so I thought why not? DH really likes it too. I will make Pillsbury crescent rolls to go along with it. DH like those! I'll only have two.

It's been snowing off and on today. Baking a bacon quiche sounds good and if the oven heats up the kitchen...good! :0)

We had a rude awakening this morning with large fluffy snowflakes coming down. I even had to dig out the car brush/scraper that DH had optimistically stored away! For dinner, it will be slow cooker Easy Italian Chicken along with sauteed sugar snap peas. Truthfully, though, I would rather have Nicole's bacon quiche!

Picked up a small ham this week, just 2lbs. great size for us. Decided to make potato salad to go with it. For dessert I made a caramelized upside down apple cake.

I just had a Mc Donald's double Quarter Pounder with cheese and some fries! I don't eat Mc. often, just once in a great while, so I treated myself.

We just finished. Bow-ties pasta with Gorgonzola cream sauce with sliced grilled chicken breast on top.

Sunny and quite warm here today. I had a full list of errands so we are having El Pollo Loco (local flame-broiled chicken place) chicken breasts with their cole slaw and beans for an early dinner. Maybe a few leftover Easter jelly beans for dessert.

Canned Hormel tamales. Prom night so spent earlier shopping for jacket/sweater thing since it is freezing cold and rainy today. She's still going to freeze because her dress is thin and so is the camisole thing she bought. Then went to get her hair done (my exchange student, Nana) and she went off to have dinner with her date and his family. I then went grocery shopping, filled up on gas and am now baking a chicken for chicken enchiladas to freeze for my work meals and eat tomorrow night and probably Monday.

We went to this fantastic authentic Mexican restaurant that specializes in seafood from the Estilo Nayarit region of Mexico. OMG it was so good. I got a pasta dish with a creamy sauce with some spice to it with tons of seafood in it, I had over a dozen big shrimp, tons of baby scallops, 5 beautiful blue edges mussels in shell, mushroom and a big chunk of garlic bread. I couldn't possibly eat it all. We will definitely be going back. I asked for the shells from the mussels, they are very pretty, I am going to make it into a little wind chime for the atrium. Super nice people.

Once a month the boys get to go for fast food, thank goodness I set this rule long ago as I don't eat meat, well I should say I rarely eat meat and I don't tolorate or like fried..today it was Burger King. I had a shake, but I ate some ham, cabbage, potato soup earlier. While the kids ate I mentioned I ate lunch and what it was my 9 yo said..Aww grandma if I knew we still had cabbage soup I would have wanted that for dinner. I have noticed that the boys don't really seem to enjoy their treat of fast food any more..I hope its because they are so used to home cooking that fast food only tastes salty with no real taste. next time their treat day rolls around I'm going to offer them a choice of fast food or me cooking their fav meal. Will be interesting to hear what they want. Tomorrow I'm making cajon blackened cod on the grill with baked potatoes and a garden salad Jello with canned fruit.

I'm at a conference, and signed up for the roasted duck breast dinner, which came with asparagus and mashed sweet potatoes. All excellent. Preceded by a salad where I had to discard the walnuts - I don't react well to most tree nuts - but the rest of the salad was tasty and welcome. Dessert was a chocolate mousse cake, which was good, but I could have done without it. (Felt "heavy/bloated" after.)

Friends of ours had a 50th Anniversary party last night at the hunt club with about 85 people in attendance. The catered meal was sliced beef tenderloin with a horseradish sauce, chicken marbella, smashed potatoes, roast asparagus and roast carrot sticks.

When dessert was brought out, I was talking to a couple who run a local winery and so got in line for dessert late, and just missed the last piece of chocolate pie, and the other two options of coconut cake and rhubarb cobbler didn't tempt me.

I am recuperating from food poisoning last Monday night. Finally gave up and crept into the walk in clinic Friday evening. On the mend now, but slowly. So I just will make a couple of Easter ham mini sandwiches on Hawaiian King rolls and something else that looks good and fast. Maybe an apple. Look forward to returning to full energy in the next couple of days. I have never been laid so low for so long with this bout, the result of eating delicious halibut.

I had two chicken fried steak and mashed potatoes with gravy meals at a restaurant on my bike trip on Saturday. I was REALLY hungry!
