Arm and Hammer HE detergent
Comments (17)Albertson stores carry Arm and Hammer HE. For instance, the Albertson store in my area is Jewel/Osco, so you will have to go to the Albertsons website to see if there is one near you. You can also contact Church and Dwight and they can tell you where you may be able to get it. Also, if it is of any interest you can now get Arm & Hammer Essentials Free 3X HE at Drugstore.com. However, it is pretty expensive. I am waiting for it to come out in stores before I try it as it will not cost as much. When I called Church and Dwight they asked me if I could call back in a couple months to check on the store availablity status of the new detergent. It is so new to the market that it has not really hit any stores yet....See MoreNew Cheer Bright Clean Concentrated Powder Detergent
Comments (55)I Beth..hope you and the kiddos are all well. it could be it was washed more than the others, who knows...did you by any chance wash it with the A&H? I have blamed that detergent for slight fading. I don't think its from OB's that would cause more of a dusty look as if you dusted furniture with the garment. But to prevent any more fading I'd recomment cheer powder..but add the Cheer to the washer first, there's just a small amount of Sodium percarbonate in cheer not enough to fade colors but just enough to neutralize the chlorine in tap water, so by adding the cheer to the wash water first it will prevent the chlorine from causing fading..the sodium percarbonate in the cheer is the secret ingredient and why Cheer is considered a **Color Guard** detergent lol....See MoreArm and Hammer
Comments (22)Several months ago I was at my sons home and helped fold a load of towels, they smelled strongly of detergent and were stiff. It was Obvious they had been overdosed with detergent. when I explained to daughter in law she let me take the towels home to * work on lol. First load I ran thru a hot wash with nothing added, there was a ton of suds I couldn't believe probably 3 inches...it took the wash and 3 rinses to get clear water. The second load I added stpp to the hot wash, again tons of suds, but 1st rinse was clear.I almost always have better rinsing if I use stpp in the wash cycle. Stpp does more than soften water it binds up all the mineral deposits, soap, detergent ect.. and keeps it from redepositing on clothing. You do use less detergent when using stpp as it makes the detergent work harder. Some people that have suds issues when using stpp is probably because they are using the same amount of detergent as they did without stpp. Its really trial and error when you first start using the stpp.I've found the best method is premixing, I think it was sudsmaster over at AW site that recommends 1 part stpp to 2 parts detergent by weight..so I add 2 pounds detergent to 1 pound stpp, stir it up or shake it up. This formula tends to cause less detergent overdosing, however you can't premixwith lliquid detergent, so you do have to add both separately being careful to use less detergent than you would without stpp, i'd start with 1/2 the usual amount of detergent. About towels and stpp, lol..be sure to use less detergent with the stpp and you should have no rinsing issues and softer towels.I should tell you since stpp strips detergent residue out of clothing when you first use it, even using less detergent you may have more suds than you like if the clothing has built up detergent. Check out amazon they have a 2 pound bag of stpp with free shipping for under 13 dollars....See MoreArm and Hammer
Comments (8)Mama most of my loads are done on hot... Ive been using a plain jane GE toploader and the hot water is too hot to touch. Sometimes I do a warm wash but very rarely... tap warm here at the moment is on the hot side, close to 125. The cold rinse water is very very warm, temps range from 105-115 usually. Ive never really cared for liquids all that much, never thought they cleaned as good as powders. When I was using liquids, (with this current machine) I would do a warm wash first followed by a hot soak/wash and I could still smell body oil. Granted I do have pregnancy nose and I'm very sensitive to smells but... the oils must be there if I'm smelling them. So I switched over the powders and it got a bit better. I couldn't smell anything while the clothes were wet but I would catch a whiff when taking things out of the dryer. I tried a warm wash tonight on sheets, temp was 121 at the start of the cycle, no soak, no double wash... just the A&H powder and they smelled clean... no scent after the dryer and no oil smell! :-D ETA: Tide powder wasn't completely fixing the problem but it was much better than the liquids... totally went away with the A&H though. I can't believe I'm this excited about a detergent lol but I'm really loving it...See Morelarsi_gw
