Leu Gardens Plant Sale this weekend, March 11-12

9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Free Admission all Weekend!

Over 50 growers and vendors selling a variety of plants and outdoor accessories to enhance your landscape and home. Bring a wagon or plant cart for your purchases. All vendors take cash and most take credit cards.

Leu Gardens’ Members shop early on Saturday, March 11 at 8:00 a.m. This is only for Leu Gardens’ Members, please show your membership card and photo ID to be admitted early. Guest(s) of members will be able to enter at 9:00 a.m.

Imbiss and Wild Rabbit Cafe will be selling a variety of delicious food: grilled items, specialty teas, lemonade, vegetarian and vegan food. Old Fashion Ice Cream and Peak Season Pops will be selling yummy treats.

It's a plant sale that shouldn't be missed in Orlando's most beautiful garden.

Only real pic I got was of the yellow tree that my wife and I love in Leu Gardens. (which it won't seem to let me post right now for some reason) I was mostly interested in tropical fruit and some butterfly/hummingbird flowers. I came home with a Starfruit tree for $15 and a Sweet Almond bush for $10. My wife got a small gardenia for $8 and a blue flowering bush I've forgotten the name of. I was absolutely amazed that Hopkins Nursery was selling 3 gallon peach trees for $10 and loquats for $5, but unfortunately I have those already or I would have snagged some in a heartbeat. I was very tempted by some honeysuckle that smelled amazing, but I'm worried about how invasive it is, so need to do more research first.

I picked up 3 really nice cane (angel wing) begonias with vivid leaf markings, my Mussaenda flava, daylilies from Beachlily, a couple of beautiful broms from the bromeliad society (glad I passed up the extremely expensive ones from the other vendor!), a 'husker red' penstemon, a blue-eyed grass, a pretty tile trivet for my neighbor who was having a dinner party Sat night, a tall red salvia, and a ratcheting clipper. I may be missing something but that's about it. I filled up my little red cart. The prizes were the muss, the angel wings and the broms. The rest was just frosting on the cake. I had a great time, as always. I tried to get into the Leu sales area to say 'howdy' to Eric but he was the Belle of the Ball and you couldn't get near him! LOL! Kate

I just came back from the sale, it was fantastic! I got everything that I was looking for...And I saw the dinosaurs too.:)

Getting to be a member is a good value, this way you can go to other Botanical gardens like when we go to the Fairchild gardens for the mango festival we use that.

I just re-upped my membership to USF gardens today! Hoping to hit up a few gardens I did not do last year (and redo some). I have been wanting to do Fairchild, I thought I would when we were in Jupiter, but then saw how much further south it was....
