What was the first thing you cooked on your new stove?
Comments (19)I decided to really break mine in last year and made duck! Then I broke out the wok. Then I roasted a chicken so I could play with the new temperature probe that plugs into the side of my oven wall and turns it off when the inside of the meat hits my desired temp. Then I sought out recipes where the accompaniment needed to be cooked at a different temp than the main so I could use my second oven. My menu for the first month with that puppy was entirely gadget-centric. Congrats Robin! That's a beautiful appliance. Have fun getting it dirty and putting it through its paces!...See MoreSpeaking of soul, what is the last thing you made for your home?
Comments (84)I finally got this thread to load and it has left me absolutely floored! Everyone is SO talented! MrsMarv and Whitdobe, I'm thinking about making a couple of ottoman. Dealing with the bunching of fabric at the corners scares me a little so two might be getting some questions! Great projects! Cloe, love the shades. They turned out really well. AJ's, talk about whipping out the projects! I really need to get after things and cross stuff off my list. Your pictures are very inspiring. Iggy- that photo of the three bolts against the wall is beautiful. Your house looks wonderful even empty. Aktillery, I would hang that in my house in an instant! Do you do all of your art? ---- LOL, I just noticed. Is this happening on everyone else's monitor? Above each post, the title of the thread isn't quite how I intended! :OD...See MoreA heartfelt thanks to FlamingO
Comments (3)Oh, good, it got there in good shape? I'm glad you like it! I worried that I hadn't packaged it well enough, Erin. Bobbie loved everything to do with the sea, actually she loved everything, period, but most especially sea life. I knew you had a thing for dolphins, a tattoo, right? So I immediately thought of you, sweetie, when I looked at it recently. I have many, many reminders of Bobbie, in fact I'm wearing one of her nightshirts right now, it has a giant fish on it. She will always be special to me, I want so much to be more like she was. And be sure to use the scrubbies and dishclothes, I can always send you more when you need 'em! You are so very welcome, Erin. I treasure your friendship, too. And I'm still nibbling at my tomato jam you sent me! Thanks, Bump. You're a doll, too. And Liz, you're all very sweet....See MoreWhat creative things have you done to increase storage space?
Comments (24)Hi Colleen! I would love to see pictures as you go through your master bath remodel! I'll eventually be remodeling my main bathroom and the 1/2 bath in the master. In the main bath I'm taking out the tub/shower surround and replacing with a "petite" claw foot tub, no shower. New toilet, new vanity/sink, and a small baker's rack for extra storage. Putting in a medicine cabinet/mirror, frosting the window so I don't need a window treatment, and a new towel rack. Also new flooring, paint, fan, light. I'm not sure what I'm doing in the 1/2 bath, except I know I'm stealing a little room from the bedroom to put in a walk-in shower. SO...I'd love to see your progress and hear about the whole experience! Do you have colors and flooring, etc. picked out yet? Haha! Cathy--so true about the garden tub. :-)...See More- 9 years ago
