Parchment cabinets and wall color. Please help me
Comments (27)Skittles, I really don't know any thing about Olympic paints but most likely, like all paints they have different levels. I would just get whatever one suits your needs. If you find a color in one brand but want to use a different brand the paint store can usually just plug the color and brand info into their computer and get the formula to make the color in the brand of your choice. Just make sure the use the correct tint base (i.e. light base or mid- base). As far as my backsplash goes, the tile is called Shamrock Shake Multi. I bought it from a local flooring and tile store who gets it from a midwest distributor called 21st Century Tile. So if you happen to live in Wisconsin, I can tell you were you will get the best price (even cheaper than the on line) I found only one online source that sells the tile. Their picture of the tile though is really poor. I would never have bought it from just looking at their photo. Here is the website: http://mosaiccreationsonline.com/ShamrockShake_GlassMu.html Also the online site and 21st Century Tile's website both show the tile with a tan/ beige grout. I used a dark onyx green grout and IMO it looks so much better with dark grout. In my backsplash search I found other mosaics with similar color glass tiles but none that had all the elements of the Shamrock Shake Multi. You should be able to see from my photo very dark green smooth glass, a medium green textured glass and a light green frosted glass. In the mix there is also some kind on stone tile and the stainless steel tiles. I actually bought my backsplash tile before I even demo'd my kitchen because I loved it so much and didn't want to take a chance on not being able to get it later. Hope this info helps you. Comments (8)Since you can't bring the cabinet to the paint store, can you get a paint deck (those big books of paint strips) and bring it to the cabinet store? When you are there, ask what their lights are. What color temp (3500k, 4000k, 5000K, etc) and CRI (color rendering index). Or ... just ask to see the box that the bulbs came in (they must have extra bulbs in the back). If you know what lighting to replicate in your home (to match their showroom) and you have the paint deck with you, you can start narrowing it down to a handful of choices. Personally, I wanted a "not white" that showed up against white ceiling paint & white trim, so I went with SW Eider White (https://goo.gl/images/R7Rs3E) That is a picture from Pinterest, I only WISH my house looked like that. I think my SW paint deck was like $5 many years ago and it's been a god send. I use Benjamin Moore paint, but they can match SW colors, so buy whatever deck you can buy. You want the full thing, honestly, because it helps you shade things "a little less purple" or "more blue than green" to fan thru the deck. Good luck, and remember that at some point you are 90% there and just playing in the margins....See MoreNeed Help! With cabinet color (with Uba Tuba granite) and wall color
Comments (3)Beige IMO is the least neutral you can find. It has so many undertones that choosing the right one is a matter of hit and miss. Before choosing any colors make sure all your lighting ie LED in 4000K this mimics daylight and keeps colors true. I would be looking a for a pale green from the granite for the walls a really pale one that has just a hint of that green to it. If you want to lighten up the space remove the backsplash get a nice glass tile and some under cabinet lighting and IMO keep flooring to one ideally but 2 at most....See MoreHelp with cabinet and wall color choices
Comments (10)IMO the counters and the flooring drive all the choices. Wall color last choice to be made always. Take a close up of the counter and post in a commnet here that is what will decide cabinet color for sure . I agree there is no gray in your future from what I can see now. Yes to decluttering for sure IMO storage is an issue in the spac so maybe address first and take all the stuff off the top of the cabinets please .On my monitor the floor and the counter do not work together . I know I am a PITA about lighting but IMO the lighting is the most important first step when choosing colors so I like LED 4000K in almost every space and in yours for sure....See MoreLori A. Sawaya
