Alexia, We had the same problem...the wife is just at 5 feet tall, I am 6'3" so we needed a mirror we could both use, without the use of step stools (to stand on or, sit on). We ended up installing a mirror which went from the top of the back splash to the 6'3" level. That meant it had to span across tile and drywall. On the tile, we used large but, thin felt pads. On the drywall, we used thicker pads. We then mounted the mirror and it lays evenly on the wall. The frame for the mirror hides the differences in spacing when viewed from the side. In our case, there was also room for some artwork to be added to the walls on each side to visually blend the mirror right in

I have black tiles everywhere in my master bath. It's not a shiny tile, but while lint isn't a problem (at least not with the tp I use), it does show water marks. If you have black tile in the shower area, make sure you clean it regularly or else it gets a cloudy haze from soap scum. If I had to do it over again, I wouldn't get a solid back tile again. I'd probably do something in the medium gray family.

m down to the wire, in decision making, before electrician comes in to review our electrical needs in basement. I so want sconces as opposed to overhead lighting, but it may be as simple as just throwing in the towel on this one. Placement of mirror(s) and lighting over the sink (left side) and the makeup side (right side of vanity) has been extremely difficult for me due to the odd angle of the vanity and the two walls the vanity spans on are not same width. I would appreciate any advise.

It wasn't planned well to start. You want to save the paper on the walls. One mirror, get a trim carpenter and a glass company,. Move the light up, put the frame on the wall. Glass company templates. Paper inside the frame, will have to come off before mirror is placed inside, Paint frame white to match cabinets, or in a silvery metallic. Better would mean letting paper go, and a single 42 inch diameter round mirror after raising the light
