Bathroom Fixture Finish Dilemma...Advice needed please!!
Comments (6)Just wanted to say I agree. I like mixing finishes actually because I prefer a vintage feel and sometimes matchy matchy can read as too modern. However, the 2 finishes I think you really can't match well are chrome and polished nickel. Instead of looking like you did it purposely, it looks like you are trying to pass one off for the other. They aren't different enough to 'blend' them, so you're only option is to pass them off as the same. They ARE close enough that if you have small items, they would be fine.... In my half bath, the toilet paper holder and the rim around these little porcelain knob/hooks are polished nickel and everything else is chrome. There is so little of the nickel that I think I'm the only one who notices it (but believe me, I do notice it and it bugs me LOL.) I just think that the tub fixture is a LOT of chrome, and you couldn't try to pass them off as the same....See MoreNeed mirror advice for bathroom
Comments (8)I am reading this thread for current preferences. Not trying to jack it but the mirrors are what I am thinking of removing! I am planning a master bath remodel. I currently have a recessed 76 inch vanity with a full wall mirror behind the vanity and 1 the deepth of the vanity on each side. So basicaly the first pic with Mirrors on the sides as well, vanity to ceiling. I thought this was a very dated look.?? The lighting is pot lights above the vanity. I was going to take down the mirrors and replace with either one large mirror with center mounted sconce behind vanity and matching sconces on each side retaining pot lights above. Or replace mirrors with 2 smaller mirrors, 1 behind each sink with a sconce in the middle and on each side. The mirrors would not be vanity to ceiling, just normal size with either tile or wood trim on the wall to surround. If people still like that huge mirror look I could leave the vanity and mirrors and just change out the vanity top, remove 4x4 grouted tile top! Comments (0)I am redoing a master bathroom. There is an existing 9 foot (108 inch) double vanity that I want to replace. What combination of cabinetry should I use to fill the 108 inches? I want two sinks and a center area between the sinks for make-up/etc. Looking to decorate the bathroom using whites and grays. Looking for some help on scale and symmetry. Thanks!...See MoreKitchen and bathroom renovation advice need, PLEASE!
Comments (1)I would take a cabinet door with you to a stone yard and use their samples to determine what you like and what looks best with your cabinets. I'm not sure the marble look would coordinate well with your cabinets. Once you choose your counters, then shop for the b/s. Good luck!...See Morepensen
