GE Profile vs. Frigidaire Professional
Comments (3)I have fridigaire professional now (3 years old) for fridge, range, and OTR microwave. No problems at all. My parents bought the Galley series because of mine and have had nothing but problems. GE is a more expensive but doesnt seem any "better", whatever that means. The stove is against an interior wall and doesnt have any outdoor ventilation so i dont think a hood is possible. I was thinking about one of those drawer microwaves. A full kitchen renovation is 1-2 years away but new appliances will likely be this winter. I dont want to buy anything that i will regret when we go to do the kitchen...See MoreFrigidaire vs. Bosch Gas Ranges
Comments (3)Bosch cost more, you don't like the black knobs, good reasons to eliminate. It also less less BTU burners and 2 racks vs 3 with the Frigidaire. The BTU difference could matter especially if you use propane and have a loss....See Morewhich frigidaire front load???
Comments (2)I bought the 2940 from Sears for $699 and love it. I just checked their website and it appears they only have it in black now for $749. Mine is white and I have had it for a about 6 weeks. My clothes have never been cleaner. I was tempted by some of the extra features on the more expensive models, but honestly, I don't think I would ever use them. This one has enough cycles for me. It also qualified for a $50 rebate from my electric company and I also got a 20% rebate from Sears. It was a good deal for me!...See MoreFrigidaire Professional Appliances vs. Kitchen Aid Appliances
Comments (10)My kitchen had all Frigidaire Gallery Professional appliances. They were installed in 2000, by the house's previous owner. The refrigerator died in 2012 (12 years life), I forget what the problem was but some fluid was pooling under the unit and the repairman said it couldn't be fixed (part not available). The range died this month (16 years) and it will cost $600 to fix the multiple problems, including circuit board, temperature sensors, and LCD display (but the burner that won't self-light cannot be fixed, part NLA). The dishwasher still works, but the door cladding has come off its frame a few times, the springs that lower the door have broken, the lower rack is missing half its wheels, so we'll replace it next year (17 years). I'm not sure if 12-16 years is generally considered a good service life for modern appliances, but I don't think it is acceptable. I replaced the refrigerator with a commercial True T49. We just ordered a new range, an American Range ARROB636. Now I'm shopping for dishwashers. In general, I'm looking for the simplest models with as few electronics as possible....See MoreBecca
