A few months ago, I'd suggest the German-engineered (but not made) Bosch having looked at it after hearing it mentioned on cheftalk.com. Two chefs apparently liked it's new cooking features presumably after use, in spite of some of the controls being at the back of the oven). But I have read Bosch appliance-users laments too, so am as confused as you. Still, it packs a lot in for the price imo, and is very appealing to the eye. An appliance business market report I recently read on high end appliances tainted my view of Swedish Electrolux some. The business profit motive through considerable markup was clearly stated for the Pro lines, sort of a 'if you build it, they will come'. I didn't appreciate that: appliances are not an investment and the consumer ought to get the most for their hard earned money. Every consumer, luxury end or not. I think the US missed a window of opportunity in 2008 to ramp up 'fully made in America with American parts (by and large) and we stand by it with a good warranty'. Can't imagine American's wouldn't have flocked to those products if the QA was overseen by our big corps and big gov and honored warranty. I have the Bosch WFMC5301UC. I love it so far. The heater is active in all cycles except the quick wash, so if you select hot which is 120F then the heater will kick in to obtain and maintain that temp throughout the wash. Other temps are cold 60F, warm 95F, Kids care 150F, and Sanitize at 170F. You can also select the heavy duty option and the machine will fill with cold water only and heat it to the temp you selected, this allows stains to be removed throughout a wide temperature range, this feature is great when you have unkown or multiple stains to deal with. A normal wash cycle is 58 minutes plus or minus a few minutes as the machine will compensate for the load size. The kids care is 1 hour and 28min, and the sanitize is 2 hours. Using the heavy duty option adds 40 minutes to any cycle. Don't let the longer wash times scare you off, your average dirty load of laundry will be cleaned on the warm or hot cycle, but it's nice to have those other options should you have some really nasty laundry to wash. I use the kids care on socks and whites, and let me tell you it whitens them right up. If I had to do it again I would buy it in a heart beat. We also have the matching dryer, it's quiet, and dries great. Just be forwarned that Bosch dryers are not tolerant of bad dryer venting, they have sensors built in, if the dryer overheats if will throw an error code. This is actually a good thing, it warns you of a potential fire hazard. If you go with Bosh make sure your venting is clean all the way to the outside of your home, and that it meets the install instructions for the dryer. If you have not seen them, this thread and this one have discussions of the Bosch Benchmark slide-in by actual users. The GE induction ranges have been among the most popular with users here at gardenweb., so there are lots of threads discussing them. The components of the GE Profile PHS920 are very similar to those of the freestanding version, the PHS920. The main difference is that the front control panel on the slide-in reduces the usable cooktop space by a couple of inches. Otherwise, you can check out reviews for both. The induction set-up is very similar to the predecessor models, the PHS925 and PHB925, so reviews of those also may be helpful. (The main difference that I can see is that the "920" models let you link the controls for the two 8" burners on the left where the "925" models did not have linking.) The "920" models have been out for three years and something now, so most of the discussions are a little older. Here's a thread in case you have not seen it. The search strings "gardenweb + GE induction range" and "gardenweb + PHS920" turned up a lot more threads here plus some from Chowhound, too. The latest versions of the PHS/PHB920 are supposed to have the smartphone connections and controllability, but I have not seen any reports yet on how it works or does not work. The Frigidaire induction slide-in is far and away the least expensive induction slide-in (about $1400 "in the cart" at AJ Madison, for example). However, there has been very little comment on it here from actual users. As with other Frigidaire electric-slide-in ranges, the oven vents to the front of the stove. You could research those models to find comments and opinions about that featue.

Charles Ross Homes, Bosch brand can be compared to GE on American market quality, it’s not bad but it’s definitely not the quality for the price. 15 years ago when I was in Ukraine their stores were filled with this brand and few others too, on my opinion Bosch isn’t worth invest into. BUT I know many people are drawn by the European look. Well it’s fine as it looks good. So years later when I saw Bosch on American marker I was shocked, how, why and who allowed it here? Glad I found your review which proofs again to stay away from it. Thanks
