Do blue Senecios grow in South Florida

Do Senecio (Repens or Mandraliscae, whatever the "Blue Sticks" varieties are) grow in the ground in South Florida? I've seen them offered in Home Depot, and I've grown them in pots, but I wonder how they do in the ground down here. I have never seen any in any beds either in public landscaping or in private gardens. I feel since they have that beautiful, aqua/turquoise sort of color, the color of a tropical sea, they would look wonderful in South Florida gardens. And speaking of tropical seas, how salt tolerant are they? A lot of succulents seem to be rather salt tolerant. For the reasons mentioned above I think they would look incredible in a sea-side garden.
