Refrig Pizza Dough? Sauce
Comments (4)I would take the dough out, punch it down to release the gas, and let it sit covered to come up to room temp and see if it begins to rise again. If it does, you are good to go. Dough will continue to rise when chilled, just much more slowly. The last pizza sauce I made had diced tomatoes in it - some of which were toooo chunky IMO - so I would puree the sauce. If it is too thin, you can drain the sauce or cook on low heat to reduce it somewhat. Teresa...See MoreHomemade Pizza Sauce
Comments (13)blueiris24: Here is another recipe that doesn't have tomatoe chunks. I used it in my Pizzeria. Pizza Sauce and Spaghetti Sauce ( Gravy ) You can use canned tomatoes but make sure they are Italian or a deep red color. Some choices are Contadina , Red Pack , HuntÂs , All Red, = Tutto Rosso, Chento Pizza Sauce 1 Large can of Tomato Puree and Crushed Tomatoes I use Powdered Spices now, and get the same results ADD: 1 level teaspoon Garlic pwd. (add more later to taste) 1 tablespn. of onion powder. 1 teasp. Salt. 3 teasp. Sugar ( add more if it tastes too acidy ). An Italian pinch of pwd.cloves. 3/4 teasp. Oregano ( or to taste ) it is strong. 1 teaspoon of Parsley, 1/2 teasp. basil. 1/4 teasp. black pepper. ½ teaspoon + of ( Chicken flavored Soup Base ) Large handful of Parmasan Cheese, when done , after 1/2 hour. Continue for Spaghetti Sauce This recipe can be used for Spagetti Sauce ( maybe you would want to cut down on the Oregano ) also just add a can of Tomatoe Paste and water to thin a little , if it is too thick it will burn easily. It will thicken as it cooks. ½ cup of fine chopped Onion. And 3 bay leaves . Don't forget the Chicken flavored Soup Base. Add uncooked Meatballs, Sausage and Chicken Thighs, when you start cooking. (cook at least 1 ½ to 2 hours ) Take the chicken out when it is done. ( About 1 hour ) Add the Parmasan Cheese after the sauce is cooked & stir ALSO !!! season to your own taste. Add more or less of what you like. Ciao: LOU Any questions ? Send me an email....See MoreLOOKING for: Homemade Pizza sauce & Crust
Comments (5)Artisanal Pizza Dough posted by Becky 3 cups bread or all purpose flour 1/2 teaspoon active dry yeast 3/4 teaspoon kosher salt 1 1/4 cups 2% low-fat milk 2 tablespoons olive oil -- plus more for bowl Whisk the flour, yeast and salt together in a large bowl, then pour in the milk and oil. Mix together with a large fork or your hands. Knead once or twice to form a ball. It may be sticky, but that's okay. Oil a bowl and set the dough in it. Lay a sheet of waxed paper loosely over the top, then cover with plastic wrap. Place a clean dish towel over the bowl and allow to rise at room temperature and undisturbed for 24 hours. Turn the dough once in the bowl about 3 hours before you want to use it. The 24 hour fermentation process takes the place of kneading the dough. When you are ready to make your pizza, divide the dough in half on a lightly floured board, then proceed with your pizza making. The dough can be frozen for up to a month; Thaw at room temperature before using. Comments (13)You all are such sweethearts! Yes, they are a blessing in our lives, every day. A few times a week, they come over and we sit around the table to "color", which really means talk, ask a million questions, share their little spritely trials and tribulations. Sometimes, they ask for a lesson of some kind, their word not mine. We've been working through the mysteries of telling time, what time means, the different words for a time of day. I knew that they had a bit of trouble with the concept of time when the littlest sprite would come over at dawn (in the summer) and ring ring ring the doorbell. I would tell her to come back in two hours or at a specific time but she would ring the doorbell in ten minutes. Sigh. So, we spend a little time during our coloring sessions learning more about time....the concepts and the practices. They're like little sponges, it's so much fun....See More- 9 years ago
