Refrig Pizza Dough? Sauce

I was going to make homemade pizza yesterday but plans changed - the sauce was done and the dough was rising - I covered the dough and stuck it in the frig - but I am assuming I will probably have to start over with the dough? Has anyone ever done this before?

Also, I made a homemade sauce with diced tomatoes - if you make that type of sauce, do any of you puree any portion of it, or just put it on like that? I'm thinking my kids will squirm if they see the tomatoes, but might be ok with more of a puree, although I'm wondering whether that would be too thin?

I'm wondering about a lot of different things this morning. ;0
