edge binding on woven wood shades
Comments (2)The binding is nice for protecting the edges of the blinds, especially on the type that tend to fray. It also protects the curtains in front of them (if you have any). If you don't have curtains, I wouldn't worry about it. I didn't bind mine because they're quite long and I didn't want them any thicker than they already are when they're pulled up. I have to be careful not to snag my side panels when I draw them up or lower them. I'd have the same concern as you with them getting dingy....See MoreColor scheme advice for Master bath; warm/cool combo
Comments (7)My 13 x 8 Bath is still a work in progress, wardrobes flanking the vanity which are a stained white finish, glass shower enclosure, round window paint are to be complete in the next two weeks, hopefully. I am within walking distance to the beach so was hoping to incorporate that feel in this room. Right now it is cooler than warm. I used marble like porcelain and a small row of sea glass color accent tile in the shower, grey wood like tile on the floor and blue grey on the walls. The warmth is in my mahogany vanity, mahogany door and my yet to be hung sand color woven blind. Here are some work in progress pictures. p Out of scale mock up of how wall with cabinetry might look after they are completed...See MoreHow to Decorate with a Bright Blue Couch
Comments (18)I LOVE your inspiration photo! It's great when people embrace bold colors like that sofa and aren't afraid to mix it with other elements. Don't be afraid of it and make everything else neutral. I love the fur on the chairs and the colorful rug. If you go bohemian, it's all about layering textures and natural materials, so think wood, leather, fur, wool, woven, plants. World Market: Houzz: Deco's idea to go super class with it is also gorgeous. For that, I'd get deep colors, shiny metallics (I like the gold) and bright/light artwork or mirrors. Comments (46)I've had to solve a similar problem. I have Sherwin WIlliams Extra White on all my trim in my bedroom but my floors are a mid toned (warm) wood and my bed is yellow poplar. I decided to go with Incredible White after lots of swatches & thinking. It's perfect. There's enough contrast that the wall color & trim are clearly different colors but it's also "white." And to me it's the perfect one to straddle the warm/cool divide. I tried Incredible white, Shoji White, Aesthetic White & Eider White. Shoji was a little too yellow, Aesthetic too beige, & Eider was too blue in my lighting. I would think about your cabinets as being "trim" and not try to do a 100% match with the wall color. I think incredible white would look lovely as a bright "white" backdrop for your larger living space. Good luck! I can't wait to follow along & see what you do! These 2 blog posts were insanely helpful in trying to narrow down the colors. I 'chose' SW because my painter prefers them. The closest BM color (per easyrgb.com) is Silver Satin. https://www.kylieminteriors.ca/the-best-off-white-neutral-paint-colours-undertones-and-more/ https://www.rughdesign.com/2018/05/08/the-best-white-paint-colors-undertones-explained/...See MoreEvaElizabeth
