Interesting (Miele W1) Quick Power Wash

Interesting wash cycle. Very little water used until after the 50 minute mark, where it does a high water level rinse with aggressive tumble action.

The cycle is 1hr. 1m.

George do you know if this is the water level for all the Miele's?.....I know FL means less water, but I'm so glad my Duet uses more water.

The Miele models currently available in the US (w3048 and pw6065 LiGi) both use more than that during the main wash. The rinse looks about right, though maybe I have a bit more water when "water+" is activated.

Yes. If you haven't already figured this out, there are numbers of how-to-do-it posts here starting with the "Featured Answer" at the top of this thread. Because Houzz displays only part of the Featured Answer, you want to click on the faint "read more" line to get Houzz to display the rest of that detailed post by Luna123456. Also, there are something like 1.1k additional posts in this thread, most of which are not initially displayed. On my computer, I have to display all the posts before I can do a full search of the thread. Houzz makes you look below the "Featured Answer" to find the fine print which currently reads "see 1037 more comments." You may have to click a "See more comments" several times to get Houzz to display all of the posts. Then you can do a terms search (CTRL-F calls up a search box on MS Windows computers.) That will get you the posts with recommendations on specific brands of detergents and oxy liquids to use with DIY refilling.

Ah. I see. Well, from what I’ve heard, the W1 is a worthy competitor. I’ve never had any Miele before and now I understand the affection people like you have for the machines. I’m not sure what the disadvantage is to the 120v. In theory, I get it, but maybe it’s not such an issue. I’d be interested to know if your local dealer has heard anything. Mine hadn’t heard anything much about the W1/T1, but I live in a small town and they are also pretty new to the US market. My dealer did say there was a LOT of enthusiastic interest from people who knew about the machines before they were even available! I decided to roll the dice and be a guinea pig. So far so good! Hope you get it sorted soon. The Little Giant does sound amazing, and makes the W1 seem downright reasonable in comparison ;-)

Miele is farming some service out to local servicers. I spoke with thr professional sales reps and he said it is extremely hard to retain good servicemen. We had our dishwasher repaired under warranty once. It is a Miele Crystal. The mainboard failed. we had about 4000 hours on it in a couple years. The guy who fixed it was able to tear it down and called miele who walked him through the diagnostic steps. They then sent a main board. Tech came back two weeks later and installed. The delay was more the local shops fault. They only come to our area once a week. We could have had Miele come from chicago, but they charge mileage if uour more than 50 miles from their service center. we are 120 miles away. I wouldnt be too hung up about getting official Miele service. They have always taken care of us one way or another.

Here you go: Normal: 105F 1:42h WF: 105F 1:33h Baby: 140F 2:12h Extra White: 140F 2:07h Sanitize: 170F 2:43h These times include PowerWash which is an automatic feature that cannot be selected or turned off unlike LG's TurboWash option. Actual cycle times are always less with the auto load control.

On my w3033 I have more water than that on the wash. The Whites cycle uses less water but not that little. The rinse is about the same and like Alex says the video rinse might be a tiny bit less due to water+ being used on his machine and on mine. I assume my w3033 is a tier II machine. This example could be the the tier III. I don't know a lot about the tier system or when they are put out to market.

QuickPowerWash uses the lowest level, similar to other cycles like Cotton or Express. The QPW cycle is not adjustable, but all other cycles on the W1 range allow the user to increase the water level in three steps - similar to the LiGi models.

The 2.0 version of the PowerWashSystem does not use any water in the drum in the Cotton and Perm Press cycles (unless the user changes the default setting). Instead the wash load is repeatedly spun and sprayed with wash water during the main wash, while only the heater is submerged to create steam/heat the wash load. Works only with <50% loads.
