Did Anyone See dr Oz Today?
Comments (42)I've used chapstick off and on for years and I have found the medicated kind to be very soothing. I don't use it all the time, just when I've been out in the wind. Riding in an air-conditioned car for long distances always chaps my lips too. I have sensitive skin and there are a lot of products I just can't use. I don't wear lipstick except for special occasions and sometimes not even then. Doris Day (you younger ones probably won't know even who she is though) said at one time that she covers her whole body with vaseline and sleeps in something like a body stocking and gloves. I don't know if she was married at the time but I bet that's a real turn-off for a guy, huh? But anyway, there are natural alternatives to petroleum products. Good old olive oil, for instance. Or open up a Vitamin E oil capsule and smear it on. I'm not sure about that "Tea Tree Oil" thing though. Is there really such a thing as a "Tea Tree"? It kind of tastes like Castor Oil with almond flavoring in it. The truth of the matter is, we none of us know what's in some of these products we put on our skin. And yes the makers of these products would most definitely sell us something that's not good for us (and charge us big bucks for it) because they don't give a rip about whatever damage it does as long as they don't get sued because of it. The almighty dollar is always the bottom line. We must be our own advocates. The best thing to do is to just keep it as simple as you can. Use as many one- or two-ingredient products as you can. Good old witch hazel is what I used as an astringent during my oily skin days. Buy things without fragrance and without artificial coloring whenever possible. The secret to good skin is actually good health....See Morestick as a diversion - ok?

Stop everything, dont move, tell him firmly with as deep a voice as you can, tell your dog to leave it. NO yelling, just deep and firm. Sometime I snap my fingers near their ear if they are not paying attention, for the most part, that works wonders. Some dogs will think I am playing. Your boy posture and energy are going to be key, just keep on pluggin away. NO FURRYBABIES GO ANYWHERE UNTIL THEY ARE IN A CALM STATE. Sit, stay, leave it. Repeat yourself until you feel stupid, then do it some more. Yesterday when I wrote my post I was pretty happy that something worked, but later in the day every time the two dogs were around each other he went for Sparky. All my happiness went away. Sit, stay, (you stand between the two dogs, claiming your other dog and say leave it, here is the stick, Sit, stay, (you stand between the two dogs, claiming your other dog and say leave it, here is the stick, Sit, stay, (you stand between the two dogs, claiming your other dog and say leave it, here is the stick, Sit, stay, (you stand between the two dogs, claiming your other dog and say leave it, here is the stick, okay, until you are sick of it. Your dog is learning by rote, the more you do it, the more he will get it. Consistencey is the key. You will get there, you need to expect some one step forwards two step back days. And I will be honest, there will be days when your dog will look at you like you are from another planet and pretend he has no idea of what you are talkig about -it is normal. We are trying to manage having them around each other only rarely, which is a pretty tough trick, since old Sparks is used to having the run of the place. He's totally bummed out when I take Buster out for a walk, even though he's too feeble to take much of a walk himself. And another problem is that Sparky doesn't get that we're trying to remove Buster from him, and he comes towards us when we're wrestling with the leashed crazy dog. Stop the wrrestling, Sit stay leave it. The more you interact, the more your dog is going to think you are playing. Stop everything when he starts his antics. Put him in his place. You are doing fine, and I have the upmost faith that everything will click in a bit. NOTE - run junior BEFORE training class, it is easier to train a tired dog, and your dog will pretend it has no idea that training classes extend beyond the class room, your dog will test youon this!! I know youare doing this, I can tell because you are writing differently, You have more confidence and you need to keep that confidence with you while you are working with your pup. Training should not just be at class or during walkies, the more you instill the sit stay and leave it anywhere youcan, the better for everyone. During meals, bowl comes out, dog dances around, you stop, tell the dog sit, and stay, he moves, you say tsk tsk, or whatever works for you, back you go, over and over and over. Never give up, if you do give up before your dog gets it, he wins. You have to start all over. So just be firm and remember he is trying, he is smart, and I think the hardest days are behind you. Keep up the good work....See MoreI didn't see what I think I saw, did I?
Comments (14)My daughter begged for a tattoo,I always said NO. The day after her 18th BDay, she went to a tattoo parlor and got a tattoo, a small black heart outline on her left hip. Her best friend Steohanie got an identical tat the same day on her right hip. Actually quite cute, and would be hidden if they wore normal clothes. I asked her if she wanted another one. Oh no, it hurt soooo much! I'm glad she found out they're painful. I know at the tattoo parlor they are verey sanitary, change needles between customers, and advise customers to wash with antiseptic cleanser for a week. They gave her a brochure. But there was no anesthesia, nothing to kill the pain. And they did "proof" her age. I would hate to see a small child with a real tattoo....See MoreDid you see the Today Show this morning?
