Freezing Spaghetti Squash

Is it best to freeze spaghetti squash raw or cooked?

My neighbour says she just cuts it up in quarters and freezes it raw. But how do you prepare it from frozen state?

From research on the internet, I've seen different methods but still wonder what works best in regards to not having it too mushy after it's frozen.

Is it better to freeze it raw then bake it as you would if it were fresh? Would this not help with it being too mushy, as many reviewers have mentioned when using frozen spaghetti squash.

Or is it best to bake it, fork it into shreds, place in strainer in bowl and refrigerate several hours to drain water from it, then freeze?

I've also read that you cut the SS with a 3-inch stem, lay it out in the sun for 1 to 2 weeks to harden the "skin", then keep in a cool place with humidity (basement works great). Is this correct? Should it not be in a cool DRY place?

Any help for both methods would be appreciated. Thanks!
