Comments (31)dekeoboe - thanks for the heads up about the owl! I went to Hallmark today and got the last one. Knock on wood - the 'L' word is really on my side so far w/ this room! The owl was 50% off! And the paint guy at ACE clearly didn't hear me when I said I wanted it mixed in the Essence paint as it is only $14.99 per gallon. I got 2 gallons for both DD's room and mine. I almost fell over when the cashier said $48! He mixed the wrong brand and it turned out that they were out of Essence so he gave me their top of the line paint for $14.99/ gallon! Sue - those alphabet fairies are just perfect! Polly - that chandy is so sweet! I wanted to name DD Penelope but DH nixed that. I really like the bunny lamp and I may have to start trolling around e-bay for something similar. Hellokitty - I was thinking of one or two small pillows - I really like the heart ones that Polly got at IKEA. I have a sweet little white one that I picked up a few months ago that has the palest of pale pink edging and is embroidered w/ 'P.S. I love you' in the same shade of pink. It's so pale you almost don't even notice it. I thought maybe a great raspberry plaid for the rocker seat. I started painting the dresser about 30 minutes ago in SW Berry Bush. I think that the deeper raspberry tones w/ that wall color are edgey but still sweet. Igloo - Maybe we can vacation swap houses like they did in The Holiday! LOL! Yes - I agree - that girls room that is decked out in all those fabulous shades of turqouise, green and white is simply wonderful! That Poster did such an amazing job at pulling that room together so well....See MoreLooking for fabric for baby girl's nursery... PIP
Comments (19)Alright- (as of *now*) I am between 2 fabrics- Sugar Baby Splash- linked above And this paisley fabric from polkatots- see link below. Problem is, I cannot find that paisley fabric. Can anyone help?? AND- if I went w/ this fabric, what color walls? I was leaning towards a light teal but I think that might be too much blue. Here is a link to all the bedding. http://www.polkatotdesigns.com/babybedding.html **remember, I am NOT buying the bedding set. That beautiful bumper is such a waste bc once they start standing, it has to be removed. I am just looking for fabrics... my MIL can sew whatever needed. So what do you like better- Sugar Baby Splash OR the paisley in the above bedding? AND- can anyone ID that fabric for me? :) Thanks! Comments (166)Finally wrapping up this minor project that has taken forever! Wallpaper is here and installer is coming on Thursday. I can’t wait! Also, after much thought, I ordered a dusty rose colored quilt set because I just wasn’t loving the beige. The wallpaper: The quilt: BTW, I love the black cabinet from Ballard. Great quality and it’s serving exactly the purpose I needed....See MoreBaby Girl Nursery Setup
Comments (11)Congratulations! I'm 22 weeks with a girl too :). The point about the mirror over the change table is very valid. I have a almost-2-year old and have the same dresser as a change table and had three custom prints framed in a row up there... two of them had to come down over a year ago once he started messing with them. I think you need a bookshelf in there, both to fill some space and to give your kiddo a spot to store toys and books that she can see and reach. We went with Ikea Kallax for this in our older son's nursery and it's worked really well. I have wicker bins fitted into some of the cubbies and we keep extra diapers, toys he's not old enough for yet, breast pump supplies, etc in higher up bins he can't reach, and then have some toys in lower bins and his his books and stuffies in the cubbies that don't have bins. Or you could look at the montessori-style bookshelves that have all the books facing front so they're appealing and accessible to kids. Colour-wise you could try introducing some natural wood tones to add a little warmth? From a practical standpoint, I'd highly recommend investing in a good blackout blind AND blackout curtains....See Morebadgergal
